Re: .stl model - features I don't understand.

When you import the stl model, the box will open and you will determine an overcut distance in the Limit Plane (Zero Plane). The Limit Plane is the bottom of each side. The amount you put will become a negative distance your tool will travel past the Limit Plane. On a double sided job you need to se...

1880’s Steam Engine Tractor

1880’s Steam Engine Tractor:

I saw one of these flash on the TV so I thought that might be a cool project, so I found a few pictures and modeled it in Aspire and Rhino. Size 7” x 18”. Now on to find something new.

Re: Scrap Redwood

Nice carve Randall. With the high cost of lumber right now, I'm using up a lot of my old scrap material.

Re: Profile Toolpath Delimma

Is this a double sided project? Double check to see if you have a negative amount in the limit plane. If it is, you don't do a profile cut. It would be better to let us know more about the project.

My brother told me to spray WD-40 on my joints because I squeak so much when I'm spending money. My set came from Harbor-Freight. :D :D :D

Re: Is there a way of implementing the rotary rounding toolpath gadget with 4 sided tapered stock to make cones?

The rounding toolpath is just that, creates a round cylinder shape, no taper. If you do have a taper component, then the rotary would be the way to go, but by creating the your own roughing and finish toolpaths.

Re: Need 3d cnc dinosaur puzzle

I went ahead and developed my own full blown dinosaur, starting with a skeleton model. It's been interesting enlarging the model to 5 and 8 feet. We've also looked at various affordable approaches such a foam boar that are less costly than $80 a sheet plywood. I think this outrageous inflation that...

Nice plaque Doug. My nephew is a member of the Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Club, where they ride their dirt bikes all over the West, and even down in the Baja. He would really like that one.

Re: 1930's Firetruck

Very well done. Did you make all of the parts via CNC?
The front horns, the side valves, the axe and the hood ornaments were 3D printed because of the small sizes. Everything else was done on the CNC.

1930's Firetruck

I came across a picture of a 1932 Firetruck, so from that picture and several other 1930 era firetrucks I modeled this using both Aspire and Rhino. Size is 20" long x 8 wide. I took some red tint and put it into so clear varnish and sprayed it on to get the Red color but to still show it was made ou...
