Re: Zeroed Z height difference

Sounds to me you need to calibrate the steps in your controller. I have Mach3. If that's the same as yours, I can show you. If it's another one, maybe someone else can chime in.

Re: Drive Stand - 3D Print

About 5-years ago I wanted to get a top of line 3D printer so I got a Stratasys UPrint SE Plus that cost $23,000, that has two nozzles that prints PLA for the support and ABS for the material, and has all the bells and whistles including a washer to melt off the support material. At the time, there ...

Re: Ever have one of "THOSE" projects?

You guys ever have "One of those projects"?! :D
Had to laugh as I was reading. Been there, done that. You'll always have one of those projects. By the way, your project, besides having all the problems turned out beautiful.

Re: Coping a paper pattern

I bought some intarsia plans, which came in a 24" x 36" size. I had FedEx scan them and put into a pdf file. From there, I was able to use various software like Aspire, Adobe Illustrator, Coral Draw, Photoshop, etc to get the vectors I needed.

Re: Spindle won’t turn on

This happens all the time. If by chance you're running Mach3, under MDI (Alt-2) tab, enter into the Input M3S15000. The M3S starts the spindle, the 15000 is the rpm. You can enter any rpm number. If it doesn't work, log off Mach3 then log on again then type the input in again.

Re: Exporting Preview to STL

When you're exporting it out as a stl file, it sounds like you exporting the limit plane also. Delete the plane from both sides before exporting.

Re: DXF units

A very easy way to fix the problem, is once you import it and find it should of been mm instead of inches, or visa versa, go into edit and undo the import, then go back into job setup and switch from inches to mm or the other way around. It will change to the correct conversion automatically. Then r...

Re: CNC monitoring and protection

It's not "IF" what "WHEN". A couple of years ago I decided to go to HomeDepot while I left the machine to do the job. Didn't turn out well. https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=29131 If I need to leave for more than a few minutes, I will ALWAYS turn the dust collector off. I do like the id...

Re: Cryptex

Thanks yall it was fun to build. Michael, the parts were vacuum resin stabilized. I roughed them out first then stabilized and baked them. It keeps the thin maple rings from warping. Doesn't matter how long you've been on this forum, there's always something to learn. I do a lot of models from MDF,...

Re: Can't down load g code

You need to know what Post Processor your machine requires to run, and whether it runs in metric or imperial measurements. Under Save Toolpaths when you click the down arrow it will list the many choices. My machine runs in metric and requires the generic G Code, as shown in the picture. If it's a C...
