Re: Colored Wood Filler or Colored Epoxy

Here is one I just did. I purchased the InLace about 2 years ago and just got around to trying it out. The black was very thick and lumpy, had to stir like crazy to get the consistency reasonable. The black ended up having some air bubbles in it, the red smaller bubbles. I think the fresher material...

Re: Trying to manipulate fonts like a wave

Thanks for the replies. The image I have shows the letters flowing/hugging with the curved line, but staying vertical. Example, the "L" in ALARMERS, the bottom leg is hugging the line. So the text on curve just isn't the same. I think I will convert text to vectors and try manipulating them that way.

Re: Trying to manipulate fonts like a wave

This is the method I used in the image. I kinda feel I have to turn it into an image and then manipulate it? Or just node edit the letters to conform to the contour lines. Just hoping to find something quicker and easier. Photoshop doesn't have a envelope tool. Plenty of warping tools but none will ...

Trying to manipulate fonts like a wave

Anyone have a technique to manipulate fonts similar to the "SECOND ALARMERS" you see in the image? The text below it is as far as I can get using fonts. Just doesn't look right to me. I may want to v-carve so I will need good lines from the text. I have Photoshop CS2, but it doesn't give me what I a...

Re: emergency stop

My garage has a separate 100amp circuit from my house. Lots of outlets and breakers. I would have thought mine would be clean. I had one instance where I had turned off one light and turned on another in my garage at the same time which caused my machine to stop. Seems I have some minor leak probabl...

Re: emergency stop

Just some info from my issues. My issues sounded similar to yours. I tried many of the things you did to try and isolate my problems. Had a motor control guy tell me a few things one of which was to put a UPS on the computer and controller. I installed a APC500 unit and all my preliminary tests are ...

Re: Warped Panel after carving

"any of you have any idea if 1 3/4" Mahogany will warp also??"

I have 2" African Mahogany for my bow pulpit on my 26ft boat. About 6 years old now without any warping. I would think if mine sits in the sun all summer yours would do fine. Just my thoughts.

Sealing or Finishing question

I carved this out for a friend from a stump of a tree I took down this summer. About 32 inches in diameter. After sawing off this piece I painted both sides to slow drying. Probably 4 months since being cut and stored inside. My question is I want to seal it for the winter for potential finishing/pa...

Re: Wood Gloat

I am a locksmith by trade and do house repo lockup/rekeys somewhat regular. I find some pretty similar stuff in these houses. Usually have to dig in piles of stuff/junk but seat bottoms are probably my biggest find. Have acquired some really nice maple bottoms. I one time acquired a rather large sta...

Re: Help with machine issue?

Ok, here's the deal. After talking to my computer expert he thought I simply didn't have enough memory. This machine since I purchased it 6 years ago was using a Pentium computer and had 512mb of memory. Turned out that machine was maxed out. So now what, new computer? I confiscated my son's P4 2.4g...

Re: Help with machine issue?

Half the posted code is missing because the file was too big to upload here. So I cut it in half. Since I had the issue early enough in the code I hoped it was enough. I thought I shut all the window stuff off I could think of including my network which is how I move my files. I don't get any effect...

Help with machine issue?

Here is my first go at doing any thing with the 3D side of Aspire. This was sort of a copy of one the guys here ideas. Heart was drawn in Aspire, dolphins from some slip art of the web. Anyway as you can see in the machined images I am ? loosing steps, something is slipping, control software? I am p...

Re: Looking for ideas for coffee table

I remember the guy from MI cutting on some cheese! Does that count? Wonder what ever happened to him? I have trail maps but are too cluttered to pull the trail information I want. It may require a lot of work to clean it up.
