Re: Change Default settings?????

Graham, Whit I do to accomplish what you are doing is to make a new aspire file with the settings I want to keep and use consistently. Save the file as something like "Default Aspire File." I usually place this on my desktop, right click it and go to properties, and make it "Read Only", this way you...

Re: Kitchen Cabinet Software?

Corel and Illistrator are not necessary. This program shows the 3D, you stretch and move any cabinet and make them any size you want in 2D. You measure a wall, and build the cabinets to fit, and it will produce the dxf files already nested if you want, and print out a master list, you can look at an...

Re: Kitchen Cabinet Software?

I bought Cabinet Parts Pro, I tried it and trashed it, this is a personal opinion, just could not get it to make some of the cabinets correctly. Then tried Cabinet Planner, more robust do not have to recut any pieces on the table saw, and when you build the cabinets virtually on a wall the measureme...

Re: Mid sized CNC router/mill using VcarvePro 48" x 48"

Wes, when calibrating two motors on your x axis, are you copy and pasting the numbers from your X axis motor tuning to your B axis motor tuning? I am assuming these are your slaved motor designations. Using the auto tune only tunes one axis at a time. This can cause the racking on the gantry. Roy

Re: Mirroring Patterns

When you want to rotate a complex part, try grouping that part first.

Re: Nesting Slices

If you think that Vectric can nest better than your mark I eyeball, you an make an outer dxf of each item nest these with the nest button, then use the paste function to put each item inside the outline.

Re: Mid sized CNC router/mill using VcarvePro 48" x 48"

Wes, I have a router with a 250 pound gantry, and I have limit switches and homing switches using the same switch. Since my gantry is heavy, for an extra safety on the X axis, I cut my racks so that my pinions run out of teeth before the gantry hits hard stops at the end of the travels. This is past...

Re: Metric Model with Imperial Tools

Import you model into Aspire, hit the OK Button. Click the set job and dimensions icon, change to inches, and the model will be in inches. Use the bits you need accordingly.

You can use metric or English bits in any model whether they are metric or English units or not.

Re: Frame reproduce

Here is a quick draw up, of 1 corner edge that I highlighted earlier and then mirrored horizontally and vertically around the edges. You can tell that the photo was not straight on because of the angles not matching at the corners. If you need a reverse engineered piece with close tolerances, this c...

Re: Frame reproduce

I am not at my Cintiq, but the piece I have highlighted, is mirrored to make the whole frame. You only have to make that one piece, which makes things easier.

Re: Need help on a file

V Carving depends on the width between the lines. You can make your lines wider on the glass, or use a more pointed bit like a 30 degree, instead of the 60.

Re: Acrylics - cast vs extruded

Also the tolerances on cast are much better. Extruded can be .040 off across the sheet, and can be wavy.

What are the bits you are using? I etch granite but I have not found good bits for carving yet. Looking at your website, I like the work that you are doing.

Also if possible feeds and speeds?

Re: jerky motion

Sometimes those tangents can be a little noise in your system. If they continue, in the upper right of general config, you might try putting 100 in the debounce screens blank. This will give mach 100 milliseconds to trust a signal from your machine switches and electronics. It will correct if you ha...
