Re: .3dm to .3ds file converter

Thanks for the reply. The problem I am having with the .stl file, is that it doesn't show a profile. I need to surface the top, and profile the outside of the part. The profile needs to be accurate. When I try to put a boundary on the part using the "fit to bitmap" function, it comes out very choppy...

.3dm to .3ds file converter

I have a customer who is using Rhino. I see that it can export .3dm files, but Aspire deals with .3ds files. Does anyone use Rhino? and if so, what is the best format for use in Aspire.

Thanks

Estimated Machining time

In the "Estimated machining time" window, in the Toolpaths section, there is a "scale factor option". What does the scale factor represent?. I see that if I put in a scale factor of "1" it shows a specific time, and if I put in a scale factor of "2" it doubles the time, but I'm a little confused on ...

Re: First 3Dcut, first post, first disppointment...NEED HELP :)

Thanks Paul. Coming from a metal machining background, I was looking for a specific function of "remachine". When I was programming for large thermoforming molds, with Cimitron software, it contained a "remachine" and a "pencil" function, that would recognize the areas that needed to be cleaned out ...

Try www.woodengears.ca He has a template maker available. It's also a pretty cool site if you like that wood working stuff. :D

Re: Guitar Face

Hi Glenn.

You have a good eye. This is a reproduction of a 1959-1960 Gibson Les Paul. The face is shaped to data that was supplied by the customer.

Re: more columns

I was wondering how you are holding the part down? Is it just vacuum, or do you have it secured with something else?

Re: adding fonts

I have allot of "Open type fonts", but they do not show up in the drop down menu. Does Aspire not recognize these types? I have some favourites that I'd like to use. Is this possible?
