Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help

How is your computer connected to the machine control?
Does it have an internal card, or does it connect through a usb port, then to the USB/485 connector?

Re: AXYZ 4010 question/help

Try this, not sure if it is the problem, but it's where I would start. Windows start menu Right click on “Computer” in the right side menu Select “Properties” Select “Device Manager” click on “Continue” Select “Ports” (left click on “Ports”) Click on “AXYZ-USB to RS-485” Right click on “Properties” ...

Re: ASPIRE 8.5 TO axyz 4008 via DNC question

I use "DNC" for most of my machining. If you have any specific questions, you can contact me at john(at)jmurphycnc.ca I have made a crude video walking through use of DNC. You will still need to use "Toolpath" to setup the machine parameters, but once they are set, you can use DNC from then on. You ...

Re: rest Machining problem?

I don't mean to hijack the thread, or go to far off topic, but.... I was kind of hoping that the latest version update would have included a new "Rest Machining" element. I know we can basically achieve something like "pencil passes" or "Clean out Passes", but it would sure be nice to have this proc...

Re: Cutting Chloroplast

I've always had issues with fuzzies when cutting coroplast. I've tried straight flute "o" bits and down-shear "o" bits, but I can never seam to get rid of the "fuzzies" problem.
Gary, what kind of speed and feeds are you using to overcome this issue?

Re: Plastic composite finish nails

I use Raptor composite nails with the Omer gun. They work great for hold down applications. I've been using the same 2 boxes (3/4" and 1-1/4") for the last 5 months. If it saves one compression cutter, the nails pay for themselves. Not allot of shear strength, but good tensile strength. Can't live w...

Re: AXYZ Millennium Router Vectric software advice please?

Hi Gary.

I have assisted quite a few people with this problem.

I run "DNC" with my axyz 5010. I rarely use "Toolpath" other than to setup the machine control, and that's it.

If you want to contact me privately, I'd be happy to see if we can work through your problem.

John

Re: AXYZ CNC Router Work Flow with VCarve Pro

I've been running a AXYZ machine for 8 years now, and only use "toolpath" to set machine parameters. In all other cases I run "DNC" with a modified post processor for ATC. I don't think the DNC program is available or supported through AXYZ anymore. The last time I paid for a phone service consultat...

Re: convert gcode back to crv

I have done this several times in the past(g-code to dxf). Keep in mind, that the output may be to the centre line of the program, so you may have to offset the vector to reflect the true position.

Re: soapstone

I've done some soapstone. It cuts like butter. Dust extraction is recommended.

If you google soapstone counter tops, you may be able to find a supplier with sink cutouts or broken pieces that they will sell you.

Re: Engraving PVC type 2

For V cutting plastics, I use index-able insert tools. I use the Dimar brand, but there are many similar cutters on the market. I usually don't have any cleanup work to do , since the cutters leave little or no residual chips behind. If you are planning on doing allot of this type of cutting, I woul...

Looking for contact around Springdale, Newfoundland

Hi Guys. If this post is not appropriate, please feel free to remove. I have been asked to quote an oval sign 3' x 2' V carved and painted. I'd like to refer this job to someone closer to the clients location, which is in Newfoundland. Is there anyone on the rock that would be interested? If so, e-m...
