Re: V-carve with flat depth

Yup! I identified another useful tool to see just how a toolpath is software designed to operate. And of course verifying it is the toolpath I am looking/wanting to use.

Re: setting z axis

sorry I just thought of something. I'm not aware that you could change the thickness of the touch plate In Earlier Versions of the shark it is located in the preferences of the control panel. It is a one-time setting and over time most forget about it until they get a new touch plate which is diffe...

Re: setting z axis

Okay Where are you placing the calculation plate (touch-off plate)? Top of material or machine bed?

Also have you checked to see if somehow the thickness setting for the calculation plate (touch-off plate) may have changed?

Re: trinacria project

Okay this is what I have tried! A lot of work on cleaning up vectors after using the trace bitmap tool. Screenshot 2020-11-21 140517.png Traced at Approx. 24" Screenshot 2020-11-21 140756.png Scaled Down to 1.0" (Zoomed in to show clarity) Not sure how well something that small will look after carvi...

Re: setting z axis

Did you make change to your carving program, re-calculate your toolpaths for the changes made and saved them with the correct post processor for machine use? Or Is a the same .tap file you have used over and over again maybe a 1000 times? Could it be corrupt? Have you tried saving the toolpath file ...

Re: V-carve with flat depth

OOPS! Wow! was I wrong! Sorry! (V-CARVE Toolpath) But that is what this forum is all about! I slowed the simulation down and watched it carve both the clearance pass and the final V-bit pass from an end of the workpiece. After the clearance it leaves material behind for the final pass where the v-bi...

Re: trinacria project

That is AWFULLY tiny!!!

You might try to scale the bitmap up to a workable size and trace it. Then when satisfied with details scale it back to the size you want.

Best of luck with that!

If you don't mind me asking why so small?

Modeled Mid-Century Credenza (Actual Size) Screenshot 2020-11-21 071145.png I also have most of this Credenza nested in V-Carve Pro 10.509 Screenshot 2020-11-21 072019.png Really is not that hard to do! Of course, that is once you have familiarized yourself with V-Carve and is many tools. Sharkcutup

Re: Does anyone do Freelance work?

Don't let the program fool you, it may look daunting but it is pretty easy to work with, easy for me to say I guess having worked with Vector graphics for 20 odd years   by Martin54 +1 Agreed I find that V-Carve is very easy to use and very user-friendly you just have to get in there, be ...

Re: V-carve with flat depth

Screenshot 2020-11-20 212949.png You have to remember that the bit follows the vector along the bits centerline as depicted in image above. You would have to set an offset (approx. .0528") if you want it to follow along the inside of the vector .5" wide pocket reference image below. but of course w...
