Re: Do not update to a new post-processor if you had one that works!!

.... If it changed in v10.5 it's probably because Shapeoko changed it, not Vectric. Vectric just passed it along.... ...Vectric did not do "something" to the PP "along the way". The machine companies alter the post and provide it to Vectric to be included with the release of software. The machine c...

Re: Cut time on simple sign

I was a little envious of your Stinger II, but then I read that it is possible for it to "sing, dance, and impersonate Elvis!" Yikes! :D

You are doing things the right way ... one variable at a time.

Re: New chamfer tool Path

Offhand, I'd say set the pass depth on your tool for that toolpath. That's what I do for Vcarve toolpaths to get multiple passes.

Re: A little something

What I was referring to was the small edge Vee around the profile. Perhaps this was intentional? Not trying to be picky; just interested.

What features of a finished product would indicate what software was used to create that product? :D

Re: A little something

Ditto on what others have posted! I really thought you were somehow over-carving a cast piece. FYI, (not to take away from your art) that Vbit cut on-the-line around the perimeter could use a bit of offset to the outside (or the point is broken). I noticed because that started happening to my cuts. ...

Re: Long reach bits

Are you asking about long cutting length or long shaft length (for reach)?

You might look at this recent post, too.

Re: How could I do something like this?

That "wave" looks like something that could be done with a moulding toolpath. (I'm not at my computer right now to try it.)

Re: Toolpath Copy

Online is where I ran across the help for it again. Then I checked with the help that is installed locally, and it looks like the same help.

All of this from my 10.5 upgrade.

Re: Toolpath Templates Again!

Now, either Vcarve Desktop has "Toolpath Templates" or someone is blowing smoke! The help stuff shows help for it even in the 10.5 that is now installed on my drive at C:\ProgramData\Vectric\VCarve Desktop\V10.5. Help keeps helping me with Toolpath Templates and even shows me how to Save them. How d...

Re: fillets

Just go to those Beziers, activate Node edit mode ("N"), right-click over the curve and choose to Arc "A". Then do Fillet delete as usual.

Re: Selecting sections of a 3d model to cut

mrlarter, I have a 3D model that includes a basically 2D section that is designed/cut as part of the 3D model, but the 3D part sits "on top" of the 2D part.

I was able to manipulate the Zero Plane to eliminate the 2D part (I actually saved the 3D part as a separate file for later use.)

Re: Vcarve Desktop 10.5 File Template

Ok. "... the "File Dialog Default" option set to operation then template files get their own operation ...." I'll have to figure out how that works with my stuff.

Now I know that I didn't miss something. Thanks.

Vcarve Desktop 10.5 File Template

It seems to me the new File Save As Template is just adding some steps to the regular File Save As. I don't find any specs on this, but I don't see anything done that I wasn't already doing with File Save As and changing some names to use the word "template". I suppose it eliminates the discipline o...
