Re: Help with vectorizing a signature
Not sure of this is what you're looking for but... Image1.jpg I vcarved it with a 60° bit. I loaded the image into Paint Shop Pro, sharpened it a little to get the lighter lines to show better, and blurred the image a little to get smoother lines. Then imported it and did a trace. Juggled a few poin...

Re: Strange changes in Z axis while cutting
Without seeing the VCarve file, and the GCode file, it would only be a wild guess. Machines that lose position don't gain it back later in the files.

Re: toolpath options 3d cutting
Image1.jpg If you Create a Vector Boundary Around Selected Components, it is about the same thing, but if you don't have a a vector drawn you'll get an error message telling you that you don't have a vector selected. You might also have a vector drawn that doesn't completely cover the model, in whi...

You might also check the extension on the file. If your pendant is looking for a certain file extension, it won't pick up something else.

Re: Error in rounding toolpath
Something that might be a clue... If I set the pass depth too shallow, like the image on the right (0.02), I get the error. But if I increase it just a little, like the image on the left (0.05), it outputs the code correctly.

Re: writing using my CNC
I do quite a bit of writing/drawing with the CNC machine and felt tip markers. I have a tool that allows my marker to lift up into the tool when it is pressed onto the material so that it doesn't drive into the material or smash my marker. I normally use Profile toolpaths and set my depth at just a ...

Re: 4th axis - CNC machine not matching Aspire 9.0 preview
I'm thinking that it's one of two things... either it's losing position, or the resolution for the rotary axis is is set incorrectly. If, as Randall suggested, you command a 360° move and it doesn't rotate your workpiece exactly one complete turn, no more, no less, and it is repeatable, it's a resol...

Re: new stepper motors
Are all of the motors the same size? Measure from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole across them and get a measurement. At least one of the motors looks like it's a double stack motor (meaning more powerful). What are the drivers that are running the current motors? Brand, model? Are they se...

Re: VCarve Pro w/Sea Dek Material - PLEASE HELP
Just so that everyone knows, Shop Sabre sometimes adds a tangential knife to their machines. With the correct post processor, their knives can trace toolpaths similarly to a router. When they come to an angle that is too sharp, the head lifts, rotates the blade to the correct angle, reinserts, and c...
