Re: Acoustic Guitar Shapes

Randall - I have tried to use the VCarve file and am able to see all of the work you did there. Terrific! However, I want to use the Lua script. When I follow your instructions I get in the program exactly what you posted - what appears to be a jumbo shape. How do I modify the Lua script to look at,...

Re: Differences in Toolpaths

Steve - Thanks so much. That was exactly what I needed! The item I did not know was that neither quick engrave or v-carve toolpaths would work with open vectors. I spent most of this morning experimenting with all three and did not figure that out! However, I did discover that when you are doing sin...

Differences in Toolpaths

When using a v-bit, what is the difference in properties of different tool paths using the same v-bit; using a v-bit toolpath, a quick engrave toolpath or a profile toolpath?

Form Tool

I have been creating form tools for my tool database for most of the day. I attempted to create a form tool of a 3/4" 7 degree dovetail bit but the software won't accept it. Can anyone diagnose what I have done wrong? Enclosed is my Aspire file. Thanks so much!

Re: Wrapping Script Text Around a Curve

Adrian - Thanks for that info! I don't think I would ever have discovered that! I did finally figure out how to do that after converting to text and welding the script font using the distortion tool.Itis a workaround as I had to cut my circular piece to the length of the text; distort it to the curv...

Wrapping Script Text Around a Curve

When creating script text which joins letter to letter it is my understanding that you have to weld the vectors together to get a machinable object. I want to wrap the text around a curve. If I weld it, it is no longer text and does not want to use the appropriate icon for that process. So, how do I...

Re: Right Click Toolpaths

Adrian - Thanks for confirming the only action I could figure out that the "hide" and "unhide" does. Just check or uncheck the checkbox-much quicker! I wish there was a way to either put construction tool paths in a folder or hide them. It would be a great help when there are lots of tool paths to m...

Right Click Toolpaths

When I right click on an existing tool path I get a menu which includes, amongst others, hide and unhide. However, I do not seem to be able to get them to do anything. Is it possible to hide tool paths (such as construction) by using those right click items? If so, how? If not, is there another way?...

Re: Inlay Question: What is best material to superglue MOP o

I do lots of inlay work. It took a while to figure out how to hold very small pieces so they won't move while cutting. My procedure is this: I glue the pearl or abalone to a substrate (usually plywood) with Franklin Titebond Original. I let it dry overnight. The next morning I can cut the pieces tak...
