Re: Getting started and having a bumpy road

I am sorry but I cannot help you. Your file was created with a trial version of Aspire. It can only be read by the computer on which it was created. So I cannot open it. Sorry......

Re: I need help

Thanks for the suggestions. Let me explain what I am trying to do. The 5/8" holes on either side of the cut out portion are designed to allow me to glue in 5/8" bushings on either side of the jig. Because the sides of the headstock are not 90 degrees to the jig the holes must be cut at an angle. Oth...

I need help

I am trying to cut a hole in the side of a piece of material that is 5/8" wide x .73" deep. The bottom of the hole must have the 5/8" radius. I have tried doing this with a 2 rail sweep and using a 1/2" ball nose bit. It cuts the hole short and does not work. I suspect that this is because it needs ...

Re: Auto save ?

Use SyncToy (free from Microsoft) and back up a folder with all of your CNC files. Set it up so it only backs up the files that are new. Takes no time at all.

Toolpath Issues

I am using Aspire 9.509 and have run into something which does not seem right. It involves the inlay toolpath. Cutting a pocket results in a very strange result so I am posting this to find out if it is me or there is a “bug” in the latest version. Specifically, when I set up the inlay toolpath to c...

These are really terrific! You have done so much work but please know it is worth it! I love being able to simulate with the actual wood in the project! Thanks!

Remove existing component in imported stl

I am enclosing an Aspire file that is an import of an stl. Is it possible to remove the saddle (angled slot) and bridge pins to allow me to place them with 2d parts in the locations I want to have them? Thanks!

Aspire 9.5

Version 9 has been out for just over a year. Is 9.5 on the horizon? In the past there was always a "major" upgrade in the interim years between the really major updates. Anyone know anything?

Re: Guitar Neck

Hats off to Sean for making a terrific video. I learned so much from watching it once. Today I will go back and watch it again to try to learn the techniques he demonstrated. I wish he had included the working squares he used to make the round profiles. They seem to be missing in the layers tab. In ...

Guitar Neck

Has anyone thought of (or accomplished) carving the shaft and heel of an acoustic guitar neck using the rotary (4th axis)? Any thoughts would be most appreciated!
