Re: Strange 3d-toolpath

No problem, glad I could help. :D

On a side note it would beneficial to watch the training video located on the DVD on Machining, James will give you more details on how to generate tool paths in Aspire.

Good Luck!

Re: Strange 3d-toolpath

To machine all models in Aspire you need to define a area to cut. Use the trace function, color, and limit it to 4 colors. Choose everything except the green. Once you have traced it choose the outside vector around the model to define the area to be machined.

Re: Strange 3d-toolpath

Ok it's obvisious you did trace it. But not just the model but everything. There are no other outside perimeter vectors? Like a single border?

Re: Strange 3d-toolpath

You need to trace the greyscale of the model and then use the outside vector as the area to be cut. You might want to offset it outwards a small amount.

Re: Object-relative coordinates in VC Pro?

Jim you could place items on there own layers and then use the center of your workpiece to set Zero. From there you can move the individual items in reference to center by entering positive and negative exact coordinates. Screw holes could very easily referenced from center and placed by rotating th...
