Re: Anyone doing epoxy inlays successfully?
The peacock was painted using powdered pigment mixed with shellac. The butterflys were done using nail polish. The epoxy used only had an open time of about 10 minutes but it did take about 48 hours to cure. I have also used latex paint with out a problem. I have found wood like poplar will bleed no...

If the wood you are cutting "begins to Vibrate" when you are cutting it free of the plywood sheet it sound to me like you are not using tabs to prevent the letter form moving. If the wood you are cutting moves it may be bind on the bit.

RandyNight Not sure if this is the same problem I had , but this may be worth a try. Click on and existing file you have already made with Vcarve. This will case the program to use the values this "old" file has and not the one found in the windows regester. If you can open the "old" file be sure to...

Re: 30 degree bit inlays
scubanimal At the present I am using bits from EagleAmerican.com They work well cost seem OK and they are about 20 minutes from my house. The one thing I have found is you must do a test cut and measure it. I have found the best way for me is to cut a 1" square and measure it. I found my "30" bit wa...

Re: 30 degree bit inlays
I've have also been using a 30 degree bit to do inlay with very good results. I cut the female to a depth of 0.10" using a V carve tool path. Then I do the female with a Prism carve tool path set to 0.18" ( I off set the art work + 0.035" ) This allows me to get the inlay to reach the bottom of the ...

Re: Does anyone know how to do this?
jakeolivia The other and easy problem you must over come is what size is the bit you are using. Just because you bought a 0.25" end mill does not mean it is really 0.25" The best and easy way I have found is to lay out a square cut it and measure the cut out. If the cut out is under then your bit is...

Thanks for the post. I tried to make segmented clock fasces for Xmas presents. The 12 pieces would always have a gap and not glue up proper. I need to try this. Thanks.

It could also be you are using a short bit and it can not reach all the way to the table top. Make sure the bit you are using can be jog to the top of the table or at least to the lowest point that must be reached in your work pice.
