Oak Tree

My latest carving on Alder. Love the new clearance tool option in Aspire 10. The tree was from a jpeg found online. It may be copyrighted. I am attaching the crv3d file.

Re: Error codes

The best and fastest way to find an open vector is: 1. Edit-> Select all open vectors (open vectors highlight in red) 2 Select the Offset icon under Offset and Layout ( the exact location of the open vector will be shown by the black square) This will even locate the 3rd open vector. This is not a d...

Re: Vector movement

You can also move the node of a vector by selecting the black node (it turns red) and then using the arrow keys. Or use the numerical pad arrow keys with the Num Lock turned off. How much it moves with each stroke depends on how far you are zoomed in.

Re: My trick for printing to scale from vcarve pro 8.5

Another way to print to scale (assuming you have Corel Draw and Aspire 9.x ) is:
FILE ->Export... -> PDF.
Then import your PDF file to Corel Draw and Print.

I cut these spindles from 2"x 2" maple using my 4th axis. I too did not like results I got from my duplicator on the lathe.

Re: Stopping and re-starting a 8 hour + design and make proj

If your are running Mach3 you can restart if you know the line number of the G-code where it stops. On the Mach screen there is a "Run From" window. Click on that window. A keypad window will pop up. Type in the G-code number. Hit okay. Then hit "Cycle Start" The G-code will start scrolling from lin...

Re: Improper output of code

The vector validator tool only found one of the two open vectors. As Bob said use the Select -> "Select all open vectors" and then select the offsetting tool. The 2 open vectors will be highlighted with a square black box.

Re: newbe question about open vectors

This is from one of my old posts: The standard method of finding open vectors is EDIT->Select all open vectors. This does work but does not show the node that is open. To highlight the open node (after EDIT ->Select all open vectors) just select the menu item "Offset Selected vectors" and the node(s...

Problem with 3D roughing toolpath in Aspire 8.0

I am new at cutting 3d images but having a problem. I used the clipart frog included with Aspire. I added a zero plane. For the 3D roughing toolpath I used the z level roughing strategy with a .02 machining allowance and a ¼” end mill with a pass depth of 0.25”. For the 3D finishing toolpath I used ...

Re: Tool Database disapeared

RRG,
When you finish adding all your tools again, go to the toolpath folder and make a copy in that folder. Select the file, right click COPY then PASTE. It will save a copy. If you lose the data in the file again, just rename the copied file.
