Re: Urn
For all the love, Thank you. For those who "just came to look": you have no idea the impact you can have by sharing your personal craft with someone. The reaction of the family really touched me. I just did my best to give them what they asked for with a little artistic license...but wow. So my wisd...

Redwood, Mahogany and Walnut square pins comprise the body. I chose the grain of the Redwood that was tighter on t...

Really outstanding. The kind of kinetic "sculpture" you can watch for hours and not get tired. I used to make single marble roles but nothing this expansive. Wow!

This is ART for my office, not for use. 47x5.25x1.5 laminated Mahogany. Purchased the model and modified in Aspire. 2 sided cut which this program makes EASY. About 90 min per side. I was amazed how well this did in not breaking off the VERY thin remaining trailing edge.

Rather reminiscent of a Star Trek badge, but otherwise original design and execution. Nice mixed media!

Re: Sit a Spell
Beautiful work! I'll admit though that I expected two of the legs to be maple for a maple and walnut stool. :? One trick I've used many times for stretchers into a round leg is to make a small flat spot (pocket for the shape of the stretcher) with the mortise in the middle for a clean flush fit. Yo...

You know, you start with the basics like this and who knows what you will be making next <g>
Seriously, that is very sharp, nice work. I look forward to seeing what comes next!
