Possible ? Multiple items on multiple blanks, one run
I have a project for a small production run. My blank size (material) is given (~240 x 300 mm). I can place 12 identical objects on one blank. I can fit 8 blanks on my table. I will fabricate a dedicated jig for material clamping. As the object uses 3 tools I am hoping to set things up so all blanks...

Re: Using a pen as tool
Thanks for all the suggestions and hints. For me it is less about the tool (-holder) as I want to experiment with more than just a plotter-pen setup. And while I am away from my machine I can't just do the try and error approach. My thought (or question) : What happens if I set up a new tool in my l...

Re: Aspire 9: new clipart?
Thanks for the information. I still have a question: I found 2 files "V9 3D Tabs Clipart for Aspire" and "V9 Additional Clipart". I installed both successfully. Am I right with my assumption that these clipart has been added into my already existing clipart folders as I don't see any new "additional...

When I installed Aspire 8.5 I downloaded all clipart that came with it.
I just upgraded to V. 9. Is there new/ additional clipart that comes with it?

Using a pen as tool
After searching the forum I couldn't find the answer. Here my question: Can I set up a tool with 0 rpm? I want to create a pen-holder which will be held in the spindle. Of course, the spindle should not rotate! Z axes is also not needed. Simple X/Y plotter function. Is that possible without too much...

Re: Open vectors error
Thanks FixItMike.
That did the trick! I am used to Corel Draw, AutoCad and other software and new to Aspire and some of the functions are quite different. Lot's of things to learn.

Open vectors error
I am trying to generate some toolpath for a sign. Two ovals are disrupted by 2 vertical lines. When trying to pocket I get a "4 open vectors" error. I drew the vertical lines oversized and used the cut tool to remove the unwanted parts (segments of the ovals, extensions of the vertical lines), assum...

Re: Where is my Tool Database?
Thanks John. Yes, hidden files were not shown.... now they are! The manufacturer of my CNC send me a tool database that probably has some of the special tools already populated. We are talking about special cutters to be used on the 4th/5th axes for spirals and barley twist spindles. This would save...

Re: Where is my Tool Database?
John, I did that and the path appears as described. I can access all files.
But if I want to copy or move a file I would go in from the file explorer..... But the path doesn't show in file explorer! I hope I am making sense .......

Re: V Carving into Bricks
I would not even attempt "carving" into a paver for the reasons already mentioned by others. If I had to tackle such a job I would try to work with the paver manufacturer and would prepare "stamps" in the right format(mirrored). Pavers are concrete and coming out of the press fresh but fairly dry. Y...

Where is my Tool Database?
Following the Vectric video about tool database I "file / open application data folder". I can see now the following path: C:>ProgramData>Vectric>Aspire>V8.5 But when I go to my file explorer and look at C: I can't find the folder ProgramData . Is it possibly a kind of hidden folder? Re: Tool setup Metric imperial, new member
Interesting response! Thanks Martin I am using Mach3 and did run into that problem today. But if the earlier information from Adrian is right that Aspire does all the adjustments internally would that mean I can chose metric units to set up my project in Aspire, use both metric and imperial tools an...

Re: Tool setup Metric imperial, new member
Thanks Adrian for the quick reply I was hoping that the Software is "smart" to do so. There is a metric Post for my machine. Getting my worktable designed and machined I will be very careful. As soon as I am setup and have spoilboard and clamping in place I will test and confirm. It would make life ...

Tool setup Metric imperial, new member
Hello Everyone I am new to the forum and new to Aspire. Just got my CNC and preparing my worktable and spoil-boards. Here is my question: As I prefer to work in an metric environment I want to start with my tablesize, clampdown points etc. being in metric. My tooling at the moment is all imperial. C...

Re: newbie question on what to decide and how to start
Thanks for all your input so far. I am still struggling to find out the real cost of getting this machine into Ecuador. J-cut provided some info about port charges etc. but the real hang-up is to find out how much the gouvernment want in taxes and duties and I can't go through with the order before ...
