Re: Asppire, error with rotary job

If it was Aspire there would be hundreds of complaints by now and I see nothing wrong with your file. Are you sure your rotary head and tailstock are exactly even in height and coplanar left to right? After you use the rounding toolpath is the blank exactly the same diameter at both ends?

Re: Asppire, error with rotary job

I think it has something to do with the low resolution and mesh count when the .stl file was made. It might just be easier to create your own twist using the wrapping gadget. Todd has an excellent video on building your own components for the twist in the Barley Twist Table project. I used a 2-rail ...

I agree with the others that it is really nice but, you misspelled "turn".

I think this was released as Michael's project of the month back in January?
That's right Steve - but somehow it didn't feature here on the Forum so I've added it for anyone who may not have seen it back then :D

Have a great day!
Thank you Stephanie.

Re: Best method for concave recess in Z direction?

For the 2 rail sweep, add a zero plane, extend the horizontal sweep setup lines to the vertical lines. Draw a box around all of the the setup lines and select it. Then use "Selected Vectors" when calculating the toolpath instead of the "Model Boundary". Add a boundary offset equal to at least half o...

Correction to the diameter it is 0.0625
The diameter is still wrong. .125 is 1/8" unless you are using the radius of 1/16".

Re: Is there a way to mimic the rounding toolpath rotary gadget with tapers?

Hi, I'm tasked with creating 8" tall truncated cones with a large difference in large and small radii. The cone is 4" wide at the "top" and only 2" in diameter at the bottom. We were thinking of first cutting four sided tapered stock that would then have its corners rounded, leaving much less to do...
