Re: Aspire Version 10 is available now!
I know I am late to this thread.. but as a hobbyist, I bought Aspire version 4, and I have never upgraded since. So don't feel compelled to upgrade if you are a hobbyist and money is tight. Version 4 does everything that I need it to do, I read through the "new features" every release.. there are so...

Re: Aspire vs Cut3d ... revisited
I think you need to read the PDF files that tell you what was added to Aspire in 4.0, 4.5 and 8.0 and see if any of the new features are useful to you. I'm at Aspire 4.5 and I decided that 8.0 didn't have anything that I personally needed, although I'm sure it was useful to others. Point is, without...

Re: Out of memory error!
You could also divide the area to be toolpathed into multiple areas, and generate a toolpath for each area. If you run them sequentially on your cnc, it should work fine. I'd do a slight overlap when you divide them up. Even dividing it into two parts might make it work. And yea, I agree the stepove...

Re: Suggestion on improving profile cuts
Good idea, Scott and Gary..
I never thought to edit the post processors to remove those moments to home.. I really don't need them anyhow.
And it makes a lot of sense to spend a little bit of time to avoid those huge Z retractions, Scoot..

Re: Suggestion on improving profile cuts
I do have clamps similar to the ones posted above. I just cut them out of oak. The clamp itself is maybe 1/2" thick. But the knob and bolt add a lot of height as well. Then sometimes I zero off the spoil board instead of the top of the wood (so that's another 1-2" depending on the thickness of mater...

Re: Suggestion on improving profile cuts
Have you tried adding a "Spiral Ramp" onto your toolpath? Tried to copy your 1,1 to 2,1 with a 4" safe Z. It cuts 1/8" to 2,1 then reverses and cuts an1/8" to 1,1, THEN with no retraction I've ever seen in VCP 7.514 finishes your cut to depth specified and THEN retracts, for a total of 1 lift. scot...

Suggestion on improving profile cuts
Many times I make profile cuts where I have a series of small lines. For example, a line that starts at point (1,1) and goes to (1,2). I do a profile toolpath in Aspire. Let's say I set my "Safe Z" on the material setup to be 4" high. Let's say my profile cut is 1/2" deep, but I do 5 passes at 1/10 ...

Re: Hot to, CNC miter
I used one of those ball nose cutters that tapers down to 1/32 at the tip.
Run a roughing tool path, then a finishing with the 1/32 tapered ball nose and a normal person will never guess it was made on cnc.

Small enhancement request for next version of Aspire.
Here's the scenerio in the current version of Aspire: The user has created a toolpath. Then he goes into material setup and changes something (I do this often, as I double check all material setup before cutting). There's a nice warning pop up that says something to the effect "You have changed mate...

Re: Aspire V3.5 Released!
Well, I really like the idea of the toolpath library function.. That would help eliminate a lot of mistakes.cabnet636 wrote:it is an upgrade well worth the price and features

Re: Aspire V3.5 Released!
Just a request.. if it can not be accomodated, I understand.
Could the PDF summarizing the changes in 3.5 be made available?
I am still on V2.5 I am wondering if it is worthwhile to upgrade to 3.5
