Re: Laptop Recommendations?
Adding to Steve's comment about not easy to upgrade laptop components, if you go the laptop route, make sure you know what can and can't be upgraded. When I was shopping last summer, I found that some laptops could not have RAM upgraded, e.g., it was all soldered, some had one slot, some had one slo...

Re: Off topic
I sliced this against my older printer at 60mm/s, 0.2mm layer height, 10% infill, 2 walls, and other fairly standard settings and got an estimate of 6:27, add some because it always takes longer than Cura's estimate for this printer and call it between 7-8 hours actual. It looks like the Ender 3 sho...

Re: Laptop Recommendations?
ChuckD, Keep in mind that the 11.5 versions now have CPU multi-threading and improved GPU support. I did a test last fall with my Aspire 10 vs trial 11.5 with something that took a bit to calculate the toolpaths and a couple minutes to generate a preview on 10. 11.5 was much quicker at both. If you ...

Re: Off topic
Were you trying to print directly from Cura on the laptop over USB to the printer? If so, recommend you try saving the file in Cura to whatever kind of device (USB drive, SD card, whatever) and inserting that into your printer. I had no luck on my first printer sending from computer to printer over ...

Stephanie, I realize the agenda probably isn't finalized, but do you have the hours and time zone?
Thanks,

Re: 10.5 is COMING SOON - Watch this space
Aspire 10.5 is available for download at V&CO. It was a slow download for me, also size was 300+ MB rather than the ~245 MB stated at the link (I'm guessing that maybe the stated size was for an earlier version that quickly got updated). Woot!

Re: Version 10 Hints
I upgraded from VCarve 6(?) to Aspire 8 shortly after 8 came out. I skipped 9 as I wasn't doing much at that time and I didn't see enough benefit in it for me personally to make that upgrade. However, will definitely be upgrading to 10 as soon as it comes out. On the tool video, who noticed that the...

Adrian,
A second thanks for the extension renaming tip. I was having the exact same problem as RayHari, trying to find documentation compatible with Aspire 8.x.

Re: ASPIRE CAMP 2018 AT MCGREWS
Do you need any help setting up the day prior? I'm not sure what time I can get into town, present plan is to include some camping on the way, perhaps in the Smoky Mtns, but guessing that I could be there by early or mid afternoon to lend a strong(ish) back and weak mind.

- Python scripting capabilities. Because a lot of other 3D software packages are using Python as scripting engine will be more easier to learn one language to rule them all. I have python scripting capabilities in other software, Rhino3D, Blender. Aspire and Sketchup... out of luck. This would be a...

You might also try running a virtual machine within VirtualBox (free).
