Microsoft Surface Pro 9 Aspire

I am considering buying a Microsoft Surface Pro 9 with the i7 processor, 32 Gigs of RAM and 1T SSD. Are any of you folks in the group successfully running the latest version of Aspire? I travel a good bit and would prefer not to travel with a full blown laptop. As a note I am not doing any serious r...

Re: Rotary Question

Gary and Patrick, Thank you so much for responding to my request for assistance. It is obvious that you both have invested a lot of time in developing your responses. Both responses are most helpful and they are very much appreciated. The Rhino model is spot on and the technique with Aspire sure giv...

Rotary Question

I have recently added a rotary axis to my router and have successfully completed my first rotary carved test piece. After sharing the success with my daughter I was asked if I count make a piece to extend the height of her antique table legs. She has decided on basically copying a portion of the exi...

McGrew Aspire Workshop Status

Has anyone heard any word about Jim McGrew possibly holding his Aspire workshop this year? He cancelled the past three years due to Covid. It sure was a most enjoyable event worth attending.

Re: VCarve10.5 Increment and Save Question

Thanks gentlemen for the feedback. I am an Aspire user and use the increment and save function every day. The friend with VCarve Pro swears that the increment and save option does not appear under the File tab. I thought it should be there. Not sure what is going on there. Unfortunately he is locate...

VCarve10.5 Increment and Save Question

Is there an "increment and save" function available in VCarve Pro version 10.5? A friend who is not a member of the forum asked me to post this question for him.

Thanks

Re: Avid CNC owner near Houston, TX or Woodlands area

John Thank you for the suggestions. Being new to the area I am not aware of a local group but will get Don to check with the people at the Rocler store. To my knowledge there is not an Avid forum but while looking a few minutes ago I discovered an Avid group on CNC Zone. I’ll check in there. Also a ...

Avid CNC owner near Houston, TX or Woodlands area

Is there anyone on the forum from the Houston, Tx or the Woodlands area with an AVID CNC Router that would be willing to talk with an older gentleman about their machine a few short minutes? If so, please email me at rdbrook@bellsouth.net or send me a private message.

Thanks

That did it! My oversight for sure. I think I have been working with the design too long today.

Thank you.

Projecting a vcaring onto a curved surface

I am attempting to build a box similar to the box shown in the attached image using my own vcarving and molding designs. See the attached images and .crv file. When I generate the toolpaths and preview them, it appears that the thin line portions of the vcarving do not appear in the concave area of ...

Re: AVIDCNC VFD wiring help

No need to respond to this post. I just got a response from AVIDCNC answering the question. The lack of success in getting answer was not the fault of AVIDCNC Support but rather my older friend’s ability to deal with email attachments.

AVIDCNC VFD wiring help

A friend who has a relative new 2’ x 4’ AVIDCNC ROUTER that he had moved from Mississippi to Texas arrived with the VFD control panel shaken loose and two wires (an orange wire and a green wire) disconnected from the terminal block (see the attached pictures). Obviously, one wire came loose from the...

Re: Inlay Pocket Clearing Problem

Thank you Jan for the additional suggestion. Yes, the spindle had been trammed and I made sure the material was flat as well as of a uniform thickness. Fortunately, after checking my settings in the software and making the suggested changes I was successful in creating a good inlay. Final settings t...

Re: Inlay Pocket Clearing Problem

Thank each of you for your feedback. I really appreciate you taking your time to help. Clearly, there are several things I need to investigate in the software settings and on the machine.
