Re: carving inside of pot
When I do opposing sides like this I have to utilize vectors as a boundary (inside and outside) and machine it seperatly. It requirs some math, which may be difficult to explain but it requires two files, I am not aware of a way to see both sides at once. I hope this helps

Re: CNC router parts
My machine is a PRO4848. I think I bought the first one! I highly recommend the system. Here's my build log if you're interested. Van http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185628&referrerid=47542 Nice build! My base was thought to be sound but I have since changed it to a basic shop cabine...

Re: CNC router parts
I built a 5X8 table from them, and used a good deal of their NEMA 34 parts to build up my electronics. I love my set up. Since I have needed (wanted?) to upgrade things and they have all the knowledge and parts available to do so for their machines. This includes making room on the gantry without lo...

Re: Solid Surface Signs
Thanks for the explanation. I believe the person that is paying for the work, should get exactly what they want, too. That in itself can present some challenges and if they are happy, you've done good. You'r exactly right about them getting exactly what they want! To ensure this I always take a pho...

Re: Solid Surface Signs
Sorry Twizted, long day and misread who was who. Customer IS always right! Happy customers come back and give good word of mouth. No issues - I figured that's what happened. My customers seem to have the gift of gab so I always do exactly as they request. I airbrushed the cone on the sign a few tim...

Re: First run at Aspire
You may do the face in one species of wood and get a higher relief from it. Then inlay/onlay it onto another species to make a sort of intarsia out of it. Then all that is required is a clear coat to finish it off. Just an idea to fix your relief issue.

WoW! I'm impressed! Did you attend any school for this or do you have a nack for these sort of things? I don't have the patients for such an art but have a deep respect for it. Maybe its my OCD talking

Re: First run at Aspire
I'd definitely put it on my wall! ;). I'm planning on making a tree trunk "keebler elf" bottom to a rather nice looking 5 foot Cypress slab i have had in my shop for over a year. I'm just not sure where it will fit! This reminds me of that project quite a bit. Unfortunately its a personal one so tho...

Re: Solid Surface Signs
That was te particular font that I used. I personally am not a fan of the font purely because of this. However, this was a "customers always right" situation. I could have made the lettering more round but who knows - that could have been what they liked as they requested this particular font by nam...

:) Its my 3rd year doing this kinda stuff. I'm kindof hooked now. I started my business knowing I would be retired with a brain injury and Walmart wasn't enough for me so I had to get into something I enjoyed. Says quite a bit for Aspire knowing I have the memory of a goldfish!!! LOL! Here is anothe...

Re: Corian
You may want to find yourself a local distributor - they will have all the information to get it done right. It doesn't always need to be Corian by name. Corian is pretty steep in price compared to Hanex or Magnatite brand name material. A local distributor will have the proper adhesive and MSDS as ...

Re: Opening .crv files with Aspire
Can we open .crv or .3ds etc... file types directly threw windows with this upgrade? I have yet to download and install. I don't want to play with my tool database yet ;) I have been praying that Vectric could make it so you can double click on 3d clipart and auto start Aspire. This would be of grea...
