Hi the other way perhaps would be adjuat the tool size up or down to get perfect joins in other words lie to the software.
This has worked for me in the past

Hi I had the same problem if you zoom in on the vectors you will notice there is the box shape and also a toolpath around it. just transfer the toolpath vector and use this one cutting on the line works fine for me.

Thanks for the comments I was trying to copy prs guitars there inlays are multi coloured
Could they be cut out by laser? will it cut mother of pearl there work is fantastic in comparison.

Bat inlays with mother of pearl

Hi my latest fret board inlays cut in two parts an outer and an inner using a 1/32" cutter.
used the inlay toolpath never been a fan of v cut inlays.
Used hot melt glue for holding material down and heat gun to release.

Mike by cutting into strips and turning 90 degrees and glueing then re planing this gets the grain of the wood the best way to take the strain from the strings and stop the neck bending excessively (you probably know this any way)

Hi There is special tooling for a normal size guitar but leveling the frets after inserting them is also very important .
I dont know much about the cigar box guitar im afraid.
Moving on to program the body next.

Challenging Guitar Neck

:D Hi A Stratcaster Guitar neck which I solid modeled in Solid works and saved as stl file.
Double sided machining as there is slot for truss rod on flat side.
All done using double sided tape to hold down. I found programing quite challenging but now rewarding.
