I would very much like to see in Aspire 11.5 or 12 the ability to set a job size based on a 3d model, to avoid "cutting air" where the material constructed to carve a model is something other than a flat plane.

Re: Long Reach Ballnose or Model Slicing
I will attempt to slice the model and glue together. If that does not provide the desired results, I will order some longer bits. Thanks to all for their guidance.

Re: Long Reach Ballnose or Model Slicing
The 12' travel is not a problem. I am carving walnut, but if I reduce the speed will the deflection be eliminated?

Long Reach Ballnose or Model Slicing
At what depth of a 3d model is it advisable to use the slicing method? I would like to carve 5 to 6 inch deep models and need to know if 1/4 " long reach ball nose bits have too much deflection .

Slicing a model. Can I set a bottom thickness?
As stated, I have a model that I would like to slice but would like to specify the bottom piece to a thin thickness then have the other pieces much thicker. Is this possible? I only see an option to specify the top piece thickness.

John, yes I forgot to mention that I did. I believe I solved my issue. I baked and smoothed the models and all seems to be fine now.

Rough Dish Edges in Preview
I am designing a 18" x 59" sign that includes 2 dished 6.5" 3d models. The resolution is set to maximum (50x) and yet the dishes have rough edges in the preview. When I take the same models in a separate file on a job size set to the model size, the preview is perfect. On the larger job, will the ed...

Edge Lit Sign
I have made small edge lit signs in the past but would like to know what the size limitations are for the light strips. Will the strips light up a sign that is say 60" x 60" or would I need to add a second strip elsewhere? The commercially available light boxes in this size are extremely expensive a...

Deleting portion of Component
I would like to remove the text from the included 3d model but cannot seem to be able to without creating a hole where the text was. Is there a method that would fill in the remaining "hole" so that it matches the rest of the surface height?
Thank you for any help.
