Re: Small Fish

Here's one I made for one of my daughters for Christmas. I tinkered with the thought of some sort of water texture but couldn't figure out how to do it and have it look right.

Re: Increasing Carve Speeds... Causes Servo Fault

Have you been able to check the amperage draw to see if your going over the 300va of the power supply when it faults? Unless it does I would suspect the drivers too.

Re: Increasing Carve Speeds... Causes Servo Fault

If you've swapped motors and drivers and it keeps happening on your z axis, it seems that it could be some sort of mechanical binding in your z axis. Also when your getting a lot of rapid stops and starts on all three axis at the same time like when you are carving you may be reaching the limits on ...

Re: Increasing Carve Speeds... Causes Servo Fault

Actually the machine I use is not what I ever intended to use those drivers on. I'm using servo's. I can get 700-800 ipm rapids but I generally use no more than 150 ipm cutting speed to get a clean cut. Have you tried swapping your axis on the servo drivers. It might pinpoint whether it's in the dri...

Re: Increasing Carve Speeds... Causes Servo Fault

I use deskcnc and the controller with gecko G320's and have been very happy. Are you using the sv-500 servo drivers? I have a set of those that I never installed on a machine, but in testing they seemed very easy to fault for some reason. I never pursued it any further. If you have the Contouring se...

Re: Could VCarve be used for veneer marquetry???

I've done this some back a few years ago. I used a scrap piece of mdf clamped to the table. I sprayed on a very light coat of 3m spray adhesive on the mdf only, let it dry for a bit and put the veneer face down and pressed it down on the mdf. I cut it with a 30 degree engraving bit which gave it a s...

Re: My first try on scenery

Thanks for the comments. I was getting tired at the point I posted the picture, but I will work on some of those items a little more. I just discovered that the fade will actually bend part of an object towards the background. I doesn't seem like the tilt works the same. It tilts the whole object. I...

My first try on scenery

Here's my first shot at doing some scenery. I took a while but I learned a lot about using the program.

Re: GOT MY SOFTWARE!!!

I'm pretty sure they'll stay on this side of Dallas. I am almost positive it's a teenager who knows my son and has been in our house. My computer and my sons computer, his PS3 and X-box plus a bunch of games are all that's gone. They knew exactly what they wanted. I'm just glad my DVD didn't show up...

Re: GOT MY SOFTWARE!!!

Yup, I got mine today, but when I went to come in the house I found the front door kicked in and 2 computers were stolen. I had to go down and buy a new box so I could get started changing about a thousand passwords before someone takes over all my stuff. That should take a while. Then reinstall lot...
