Re: Tool Database

Hey Brian!!! :D

It worked...yippy  I know it's a little thing, but I really liked having the job dimensions right there to see, and now I have them back!

THANK YOU!

Re: Tool Database

Ok, just found something else...if my friend changes her view to portrait, then the dimensions show. They are WAY down below the drawing area!!! Why? Can't very well work with my computer sitting on its side  This seems to be a bug...at least to me...must be others out there with the same iss...

Re: Tool Database

Well, my resolution is fine...same as it has always been 1280x800. The only change was upgrading to 6.5. A friend checked on her computer and she is also having the same result (uses 1360x768 res). Yet another computer with same revision is fine. Is there anyone out there from Vectric? Please help. ...

Re: Tool Database

Hi Tim, Yep, thought it was on the right, but after you mentioned that the dims were on the left under the drawing icons, I remembered. However, no dimensions show in my files. I've done a screen capture of one of my files (layers are hidden) and cropped it for a smaller picture upload size. Don't k...

Re: Tool Database

Thanks Tim, I was afraid of that :) Oh well...I just played with the cuts until I got what I needed...now I know what I have to do to get what I want :D Off the subject, but do you or anyone else know if there is a setting in VCP that can be turned on to always show the size of the job dimensions? I...

Tool Database

Hi, Can someone help me, please. I am trying to create a tool database entry for a dovetail and for a t-slot cutter. I want to be able to use the shape so that when I preview the cut, I can see the actual cut shape. I can't seem to get it so that my drawn shape(s) can be entered in as a new form too...

Re: Oval 3d image surround by a square

Hi Mark, Thanks for the info, but I think I'm still lost, or maybe I wasn't clear in my question. We've created 3d (2.5d really) in VCPro a few times now. Here's what happens: In one instance, using an image in an oval dish style: -----We import the Vector Art 3d file into Machinist and create rough...

Oval 3d image surround by a square

Hi Everyone, When cutting a 3d image in VCP, some images come in with a square around them. This square cuts when the 3d image cuts. Why is it there and how do I not cut it? Does it have to do with machining allowance? And if so, what...I don't understand what machining allowance is. Thanks for the ...

Black dots next to name of toolpath

What are the black dots next to the names of the toolpaths? I seem to remember figuring it out once and then they disappeared, but apparently my brain has not retained this information

Does anyone know what they are, how they got there and how to get rid of them? :)

Thanks,
Linda

Tooling Marks and Toolpath Not Following Lines

Any help or thoughts on these is much appreciated: 1) We are getting tooling marks (see images 1-3) regardless of what bit we use. Happens with end mill and ballnose, as well as a planing bit with a 5 deg taper. The large boards show the planing "ripples," while the others show tooling marks inside ...

Reusing artwork and associated toolpaths

I am setting up a library of artwork and the toolpaths that work with each. How can I use this library as a source to take artwork from and put into other files that I am working on? Is there anyway to reuse a piece of artwork and its associated toolpaths in another VCP file? I am trying to figure o...

Re: Cutting path not what it should be

We've checked everything, but we will double check, just in case.

Yeah, we're newbies and are having some bumps in the road, but we'll get it all figured out.

Thank you all for your help! :)

Re: Cutting path not what it should be

Hello, I took another look and see that I am mistaken with my first comments about the posted current cut pictures. I can see now the areas that are proud on the original are proud on the current cuts, so I'm sorry for not seeing things incorrectly and my related comments about the vector selection...

Re: Cutting path not what it should be

We don't think anything is loose on the CNC, but we will certainly check. Also, the areas that stand proud on the original are still proud on the two runs. There's a bit of an optical illusion of reversal, due to the color of the test boards....so your eyes are okay :) I am uploading the Vcarve .crv...
