Graduation Plaque

We had several High School Graduations this year. One played Football and another played Lacrosse (still need to complete this one). I purchased the design from Make and Design and wanted to do more with it. Using Aspires Measure/Inspect and the Model Cross-section tool I was able to extend the base...

Re: Aspire DXF file not showing bogbones in AXYZ Toolpath

I was able to duplicate the issue at hand. Your trouble is that the the radius of the cut out bit is too large i.e use a smaller diameter bit. I exported a dxf file from Design CAD Software into Aspire. Using a .25 end mill (same problem). Changed cutout bit to a smaller .0625 Wa La it worked see At...

2 Rail Sweep

In sculpting the fold in the banner the fold would turn up backwards even though my ducks seemed to be in-a-row (the starting points where they should be). The trouble turned out to be which of the 2 rails I selected first (here again with both start points on the same end). . Please refer to the up...

Re: Out Door Sign & Painting

The start points were at the bottom of the 2 parallel lines (Vectors 1 & 2). Vector 3 looked some what like Gibraltar. The trouble shows up in which side the start point is on Vector 3 and which vector 1 or 2 you pick first. If the start point on Victor 3 is on the left side then pick Victor 1 first...

Re: Vary Milling Speed for 3D

Thanks Jam.......I figured as much. This has caused me to think about what I can do about it. Jam, would you be willing to share with me your experiences in building your CNC?

Vary Milling Speed for 3D

I came across this You Tube video in which the travel speed varies depending on flat work vs 3D cutting. How is that changed (it would certainly speed up the process).

Re: Out Door Sign & Painting

Thanks Mike. This one is a draft and the lettering will be flat with base height raised Yes Gary, I am at the south end of Salt Lake County. I enjoy woodworking and like the challenge that CNC offers. I have already spent considerable time trying to get the "Banner" correct. It seems that the order ...

Re: Out Door Sign & Painting

Thanks for the info. I like the HDU, as mentioned I used a Polymer on a previous. The posted sign is just a draft out of wood. I talked to the city about a boarder and as mentioned .

Out Door Sign & Painting

Retired and having fun with my CNC. I have done volunteer work for the City and when asked to do the latest I jumped at it (See attached). The Cities logo is light blue on a white background, but would appreciate suggestions as to something that will stand out. Our booth will be 1 among 5 other loca...
