Re: Drag Engraving

Here is the one I use. I mainly engrave stainless steel tweezers. Some of them are chrome plated and some are plain. I also engrave brass with it. I purchased a 120 degree tip and a 90 degree tip. I have only used the 120 deg. tip. I have engraved close to 1000 pair of tweezers with it and it is sti...

Re: Bird feeder

Sawman, I believe the files are available at this thread. http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php? ... 45#p116330 I was just thinking as I was reviewing the project. It would make a dandy use of plastic 2 liter soda bottles.

Re: can't pocket

Using your tool set up I get a single plunge into a depth of about 0.1716 inches deep. Just changing the "D" diameter +/- 0.001 will toolpath correctly. I don't understand it. BUT, that is what I get. I also tried using a 45 deg chamfer bit with the same results as with your tool. I even increased t...

Re: Linear moves at the start-toolpath / saving 100% tool co

Have you tried feeding your roughing pass the opposite direction? I believe the problem is the way the waste material moves as it is nearing the end of the cut. That and the desire of the cutter to pull into the tiny point of material that is left when the waist tries to fall out. If the feed direct...

Re: measuring spoons

Haha Brian that is just awesome. I do not make molds or castings but that would just work out wonderful for those that do make them. It is also a great way to get a pretty close guess of the weight of the material removed from a project. Hmmmmm The things we can learn if we just pay attention. :) An...

Help with a font

I am trying to find this font. I have looked at over 600 pages of fonts and I have either overlooked it or just haven't found it yet.
It is similar to Southern Aire or Engagement but they are not quite right. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you, Don

Re: New Gadget Available : GreenSquares fixes StartPoints

Thank you Paul ! I haven't needed it yet, but, as I learn and experiment
with other ways of toolpathing I am certain it will be a useful tool to have.

The private message is an envelope in your user information box at the right hand side.
It hides until you scroll over a message.

Re: Need some assistance please.

The larger and more detailed I make my projects I get the not responding message. I close all other programs and wait. This happens a lot during 3D rough and 3D finish calculations. I mostly use the 50x for details and only .002" to .006" stepover with a .032" dia. tool. So, I figure my want and nee...

Re: how to use a 1/32" bit

I use Harvey Tools quite often. I machine a lot of 360 Brass. I rough the outside contours with a 1/16 " dia. endmill offset .005 " to .010" Then follow up with a 1/32 " dia. endmill. I cut through .150" depth. I have the cutter set to .010 depth of cut at 4 ipm and use a spiral ramp. I have also fo...

Re: New Format

My old eyes are having trouble with the grey on slightly-darker-grey. I don't know if you know this or not but, if you press the ctrl and the = key at the same time the screen will enlarge the ctrl and the - key at the same time makes it smaller. When you want to return to normal press the ctrl and...

Re: looking for some help/idea

Just a thought here. If you basically cut the bulldog out flat like an intarsia project and build it up from its back legs to it's head you will create a small amount of clearance room for a 3 D bat. Create the bat to be tapered like a real bat. You can create the teeth modeled on the bat and just c...
