New Sign Almost Finished

I've been away from here for too long! Hope everyone is doing great this year! So recently I got in touch with several folks in the downtown area where I live and with all the new businesses coming in my name has gotten around keeping me busy! A restaurant hired me to create two double sided signs, ...

Re: Model Thickness Error?

Thanks Angie! After toying with it I finally figured out how to fix my issue. Which doesn't really make sense to me but I guess this is just how it is! So when trying to create tool paths for a part I get this error - "Model thickness exceeds material thickness". I go back and check my actual part w...

Re: Model Thickness Error?

Yup, the model is at 2.3913" in. if your looking at it from the tool path section of Aspire but over at the modeling tab it says 2.25"! That is where I'm stuck and can't figure out why this is happening.

Model Thickness Error?

Hello, I'm very familiar with Aspire as I've been using it for a good bit now. But one thing that always seems to bother me is that I have some model thickness errors which I can not figure out. My job material setup is at 2.25" thick while the actual part is exactly at 2.25" thick. So when I go ove...

Re: Daniel in the Lions Den- Carved

Sure thing Angie! Here is a few pics that should tell the tale!
The first pic show the vectors. One vec around the whole thing which was used for the roughing path and the first finishing path. The other vecs are for separating the detailed finishing paths for all three of them.

Re: Daniel in the Lions Den- Carved

Well after the black primer I will use a cheap horse hair brush to just stroke over the piece with a silver paint. Barely hitting the piece will still allow the primer to poke through and give an aged antique-i look. Kind of how I did the tiger piece below.

Re: Daniel in the Lions Den- Carved

Thanks! Its 41" tall by 24" wide by 1.625" thick. It took a very long time to carve out. Somewhere around 35hrs.

Daniel in the Lions Den- Carved

Just got done with "Daniel in the Lions Den" finally. Over the holiday I came out every day to send out a cut path to get it done. On the last tool path I had to separate the cut job into 3 separate cuts. Reason is my CNC only has 34MB of RAM and the whole cut file would have been like 70MB. Oh well...
