Thanks! The PVC (like sintra) I started with was black. It was sprayed with Rustoleum Hammered (Bronze, I think). After a few days of curing, it was V-carved at .025" depth. The two examples in the picture will eventually get sprayed with satin clear which adds a little protection plus an added dept...

Yes, it does look better with the stain. Tell us about the door frame. Almost looks like pecky cypress. The house was built in '06 and the door trim is red fir, 99% of the wood trim in the house is red fir. It had a dozen or so layers of paint that we chipped off plus the original varnish that was ...
