Re: Aztec calander monthly project
Search this website for the CarveOne versions of the Aztec Sun Stone calendar that I made in 2012, and also for the Mayan Haab Calendar in both 2D and 3D versions. I have used them both as top panels for some three and four string salad bowl guitars. You will enjoy them as much as I have. These file...

Re: PVC for spoil board
Just FYI, I use MDF sheets for the spoilboard on my 3'x4' and 5'x12' CNC machines. After cutting the sheet to fit the machine(s) I roll on a heavy coat of Minwax polyurethane on the edges and bottom side. After surface planing the top side I roll on a coat of polyurethane on it. After the surface of...

Re: Celtic rope and basket weave on a Paradise box for Vicki
I finally found the Celtic Rope Aspire file on the old computer and converted it to the Vcarve Pro .crv file format. If you need these files in a .crvt template version I can do that, but I have never used that version myself. Not sure what it is for.
It is an elliptical shape.

Re: Celtic rope and basket weave on a Paradise box for Vicki
By request, I have converted the original basket weave Aspire .crv3d file to Vcarve Pro .crv file using the latest Aspire 11.505 software that I upgraded to today. We will soon see if BigDude can use it with Vcarve Pro. My appologies for not posting here for well over a year. Life has been very busy...

Re: Need some advice
I mostly used Birchwood Casey's True Oil on my gun stocks also. For my red oak Paradise Boxes I like Minwax Early American liquid stain and Minwax clear satin polyurethane spray paint. General Finish's Java gel stain for any dark detailing to be done. For testing of finishes and stains, I would do i...

Re: gun stock
In my distant past I have made a lot of gun stocks for both rifles, single shot pistols (TC Contender and Encore specifically), and grips for other pistols. I haven't used CNC for anything but the 1911 and some revolver grips. I have one other suggestion after reading through the link Sharkcutup pro...

Re: It's a Topsy-Turvy World Clock
This totally awesome. Can I ask where you got the clock movement from. The CW movement came from the local Walmart, which has two types of them in the craft section. The 4-1/2" pair of hands were purchased at a Woodcraft store in west Raleigh, NC. The movements (both CW and CCW types) can be ordere...

It's a Topsy-Turvy World Clock
Hi everyone, I'm BBBAAACCCKKK! I have been very busy this past year with other unrelated things and haven't done much with the CNC hobby projects. This is a very different version of this type of clock than what I found on other websites. I have successfully upgraded my Aspire software to V11.009 re...

Re: Car and Truck Show Trophies
Thanks Tex and Scott. The metal flag is attached in four places with a shortened brad nail, then painted gloss black also. It's not as obvious as a small screw would be, which was my first thought. A lady won the Kids Choice trophy and a man won the best interior trophy. They both gave me some nice ...

Car and Truck Show Trophies
I was asked by the owner of the business that painted my truck last year to make a couple of trophies for their first ever Truck and Car Show to be held on 9-4-2021. He and a couple of his employees are making 23 more trophies using plasma cut sheet metal flames and checkered flags and car and truck...

Hi Gary,
I'm not much of a painter myself, certainly not an artist who can paint the individual stars and stripes by hand. I'm better at cleanup work with artist brushes though.

Re: US Flag Theme Lectern
Thanks for the comment wood_fly. I stay busy during the summers and don't do as much with the CNC woodworking hobby. This was mostly posted as a signal that I am still around. I do a lot of stuff for a couple of the veterans groups in this community when the opportunity arises and fits in with my ca...

US Flag Theme Lectern
I was asked by the leader of the new location of the Roanoke Valley Veterans Museum in Littleton, NC if I could make a lectern that they could place near the front door to put their Guest Book on for visitors to fill out. I told him that I had never made one, but "I will definitely give it a shot si...
