Re: Oval 3d image surround by a square
Tim, In Cut3d, step 2, I checked the symmentrical box and set it at .01 and unchecked the Use Model Silouette box. It cut perfect in VCP so am hoping it will now cut fine on the CNC. I am finding that these designs take forever and a day to cut. This one is 29" x 7" from VecterClip3d (Wildlife Scene...

Re: 3d Tool Path Problems
I only have VCP and Cut3d. Aside from the 3 magazine on the side of the magazine rack, it looks like the rest can be cut in VCP. Does anyone have a .crv file of those pieces?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: iPad or other tablet
I guess I should have clarified that I meant a tablet like an iPad, not one like Wacom makes. I'll check with Jim and see how he did it...anyone know his user name so I can send him a pm?
And thanks for your replies!!!

My guess is that it's ok if it's for your own use and you're not going to sell the design or the finished clock.

iPad or other tablet
Does anyone know if VCP can run on a tablet? I think it would be great to be able to go to a customer and show/modify/edit their project on a tablet. I don't want to use it for cutting...just as a show and tell tool.

Re: Black dots next to name of toolpath
Thank you, I will definitely check that. I knew it was something simple and nothing to worry about, but you know how something can just get in your head and you have to find the answer?!!!
Thanks

Getting double vectors when tracing
In VCP I have imported a jpg for tracing. I then go to Trace. When I click on Fit Vectors I get double lines...where there was only one line in the original, I now have two in the trace. Ignore the low quality as I just want to show the difference between the original and the traced image. Any sugge...

Re: Cribbage Boards
Ditto on the process. I've run one crib board using a deer from VectorArt3D and love it but would like to know the inlay, too. You have inspired me...thanks!!

Re: VectorArt 3D.....7 hours????
Thanks guys...you're all great. I'll be working on it again today and keep in mind all that you have said. I have one more question for Bob.....when you say "safe Z height" I understand that to be the height above the full depth of the board. On a flat carving I can see how it works, but on a 3d car...

Re: VectorArt 3D.....7 hours????
It's an oval, about 6" wide by 4".
1/8" ball nose for rough pass with 40% step-over...I think. The finishing pass is a 1/16" ball nose with an 8% step-over.
What would be a recommended feed rate and pass depth of each path?

I don't have Aspire. I can't believe that so it must be my settings. Could someone give me a Dummies how...
