Re: Rounded bases of pockets.

The Pro version supports gadgets, and the FlutePlus gadget lets you design any Z profile on a series of X-Y vectors to make bowls, dished pockets, etc.

Re: Daenery's My Sail Boat

How did you fasten the name plates to the complex shape of the bow? Sailor stuff (5200 and friends) or woodworking stuff? Did you have to thin out the wood much to make that possible?

Re: FlutePlus? Aspire cutting along a Z-vector

Hi StefanV Glad you got it to run; the code should be sound. I am working on an upgrade to add more bells & whistles, but it sounds like it should do what you want. I believe there is an example similar to that in the files, where you cut the inside and the outside of a bowl. I didn't see an email/m...

.
I was assuming (without evidence) that the pocket was rectangular.
The material would have to be positioned on a slope for each of the sides, but the corners would remain an issue.

Re: Sloping side in a pocket

Can you put the material up on a slope that matches the slope you want in the pocket? You would want to have good jigs made, but the edges would be great and the cutting very quick.

Re: Can a STL file Be Done in VCP9.5

I don't believe that STL files have inch/mm or any other units associated with them ... the importing software does that.
Cheers!

Re: Tapering a pocket

Can someone share with me how you tell the software you want a 30 degree tapered pocket in VCarve pro. I am new to CNC and VCarve software, I have only had my setup for 2 weeks now, but I am in love with it already a little frustrating at times though, like this when I can't figure out on my own ho...

Re: Thread cutting

Paul: i do/am (thinking of a v-cutter on a rotary) for a male thread on dowel. Actually, a v-cutter without the point to match an ACME thread... to create longer threaded dowel than i can get on my machine (z-limits). and a similar profile on a side cutter when using your gadget for the female thre...

Or put a ruler in the same scan

The FlutePlus gadget can do it from the Vectric programs, and let you visualize the results too.

I can't picture what you are asking for ... could you give some more detail, or even a sketch ?
