Very interested in this as well.
It would be great to have a 4 sided option like there is in Cut3D!!
I'd love to do their porche example in a 4th axis setup.

Re: Best practice for turning square stock round? (4th axis)
Wow... I got it. I always did the check for update and installed that way... I decided to log into the portal and redownload Aspire again. I did a complete reinstall instead of update (same version #) and there it is... The wrapping gadget is now available. Uhg, so much frustration with that one. - ...

Re: Best practice for turning square stock round? (4th axis)
Please see my picture post above.
- It's not there on my version 10.516?
So how do I get it?
It's been said it's pre installed, but it's clearly NOT THERE?

Re: Best practice for turning square stock round? (4th axis)
Sorry, I still cannot find any wrapping gadget within Aspire? If it's suppose to be under the gadget menus, it's clearly not there. (As seen in the picture in previous post) - Where do I find this: "wrapping/spiral layout gadget" - I can not find it anywhere in the menus or for download? I'm so conf...

Re: Best practice for turning square stock round? (4th axis)
Okay, I'm clearly missing something as I can not find any (built in or not) Gadget for wrapping? - It's not under "gadgets" I am using Aspire version 10.516. I think I was on v8 or 8.5 when I used the wrapping gadget the first time (Had to download and install it) Since then, between Aspire updates,...

Best practice for turning square stock round? (4th axis)
Hello, I did this in an older version that allowed the Wrapping Gadget. That gadget allowed you to enter square stock dimensions to cut a round spindle very easily. Seems that gadget is no longer available. I'm on v10.516. What is the best practice now to create that toolpath? Say I have a 2"x2"x6" ...

Re: Quick engrave inside pocket?
OKAY!!! I see now. That seems to be the best solution. - I like this better then my fluting option I've been doing :D Creating the bit in that style works very well. A couple changes I made were: - Set side angle to 20deg - at 45deg would hit side wall of pocket - Flat Diameter to 0.002" - Set the c...

Re: Quick engrave inside pocket?
Thank you, could you do that again with my second example? I cut the bottom of the 'T's off to create open vectors. How do you go about engraving both open and closed vectors? - Can you do it in one toolpath? - I can do it with two profile toolpaths(one open/one closed), or move what I need on a new...

Re: Quick engrave inside pocket?
Wow. thank you! My own ignorance, but that was the first time I 'profiled' an open vector. Thanks for explaining that! - I've been trying educate myself a lot better with Aspire over this holiday (That's how this question got started) Trying your suggestion, and it seems I would need to create two t...

Re: Quick engrave inside pocket?
And thinking a little more: The only reason I see that it is not an option is due to clearance issues. - Every tool is defined, but maybe some sort of crash avoidance would be necessary inside the pocket? - I still think it would be easy enough to implement (but I'm no programmer) - We all came up w...

Re: Quick engrave inside pocket?
Yes, I could do that, but that to me is still fudging things and doesn't seem right?
I don't want to have to fudge things like that (when in my head, adding a start depth solves everything)
It's why I've raised the question here.
I hope to upgrade when v12 comes out
