Re: Easy Cabinet Maker

Jim,
I just opened your gadget to look at it and I couldn't get out. I had to use task manager to close the program. Looks like a great program!

Re: Finger Pull Profile Toolpath

I would most likely create a "pocket" vector and run a pocket toolpath to cut out most of the material before I used the expensive bit to do the undercut. I would make it a little shallow and leave a little on the edge so the Finger Pull bit does all the finish work.

Re: Material not flat, best approach needed

I have done some pretty delicate v-carve text on acrylic that had considerable thickness variations. I broke my tool paths down to make multiple cuts. I set the z to the surface in each area. Takes more time, for sure, but it works.

Re: Issue with modeling toolpaths

I am up to date with upgrades. I'm guessing that it has something to do with cutting them together then separating them. Somehow Aspire kept them together after I changed it. It would let me separate them but later it would revert to cutting them together. I separated them several times and it alway...

Re: Issue with modeling toolpaths

The Selected Vectors did the trick. Thank you both!
The file is for cutting corner and edge trim out of Corian. The tile is only .25 thick and we couldn't find anything at the tile stores that would work. The two "Junk" cuts are just to preview the pieces.

Issue with modeling toolpaths

I created two models and created a 3d Finishing toolpath to cut them both. I have decided to separate the toolpath and cut them individually. After separating them once, they keep showing up together again. I had to turn off one component to make the toolpath separate but the next time I go into the...

Re: Checkers

It would be easier to create the lines by using the 'copy along vectors' with the 'align objects to curve' option checked.

Re: Checkers

I played with it a bit. I created a profile circle and a pocket circle and a vertical line. I used the 'circular copy' function and copied the lines around the circles. I profiled on the lines with a 90-vbit. I believe they should lock together when stacked on top of each other. I could be wrong.

Re: Easy Zank Toolpath Maker

Thanks for sharing! I'm new to the Zank inlay method, I've been wanting to try it but haven't gotten around to it.

When I ran the gadget it created five versions of the same toolpath. The help menu refers a cabinet gadget (I think.)

Re: How did THAT happen?

I did the same thing once but caught it before cutting. You have to highlight the toolpath you want to save. If you use the checkmark when you select your toolpath it will save the highlighted toolpath instead. Now I am careful to look at the toolpath before saving to make sure it is the right one.
