Re: Lithophane lighting comparison

You can use hobby craft flexible mirror sheet. Just cut it with scissors, peel the backing and stick it in place. Something like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/A4-x-3-sheets-U ... 3cfd8f7b4c

Re: Wooden Heart

Hi Gordon, I created the hearts in Aspire using the Draw Curve option in Create Vectors then I fine tuned the shape using the Node Editing option in Edit Objects . I've attached the geometry if you want to take a look. Cheers, Alan Interlinked_Hearts.crv3d Hi Alan, thank you for sharing the file an...

Re: Wooden Heart

I created the interlinked hearts using Aspire's 'Extrude & Weave' modelling option. Cheers, Alan Hi Alan, you're very talented making the interlinked hearts using the 'Extrude & Weave' modelling option. I'm wondering if used a heart shaped object as the drive rail for the extrude? If, so what softw...

Re: Big job Done

Hi, I love the finish you have on both the logo and the boots. Could you please explain how you colored each of them in to get such clarity? Cheers, Gordon

Re: Cut3D Trial version doing rough finishing pass.

Hi Tim I'll probably start off with Cut2D and may get Cut3D or VCarve Pro later? Also with Cut2D I could still use the 3D Machinist to produce some nice art work until I progress in both experience and outlay on software. I would love Aspire however it's too expensive for my budget :) Cheers, Gordon

Re: Cut3D Trial version doing rough finishing pass.

Hi Tim, the reason I did it intially in Cut3D instead of Cut2d is that I presumed that Cut3D would do all of the 2D stuff as well as Cut2D however have the added functionality of doing 3D stuff as well. However as Cut3D doesn't necessarily do 2D stuff as well as Cut2D then I'm wondering that if I lo...

Re: Cut3D Trial version doing rough finishing pass.

Hi Tim, thank you for the reply :) I've downloaded Cut2D to have a play with. Until tonight I didn't even know what stepover was or what it's effect was so now I know and will certainly reduce the amount of stepover versus the quality required. There is both a steep learning curve and cost to most C...

Cut3D Trial version doing rough finishing pass.

I've ordered some CNC plans so that I can build a CNC machine over the next few months. In the interim I'm trialling software so that I can decide what I will use when the CNC is completed. Another piece of software I'm trialling besides Cut3D is Alibre. So I designed an easy part in Alibre and then...
