Hi Randy, i'm cutting a very large 3D file this weekend and I am seeing some bad results from my finishing pass , not sure what my issue really is. Does this mean that on the larger version, 19 x 25 you are using a roughing toolpath? If so, the results you are seeing maybe what is leftover from your...

Hi Tim,

No, I haven't given it to him yet. I only made this on Sunday afternoon.
I will take it over with me when I go again about the 20th of July.

1969 Transatlantic Air Race

A couple of weeks back, while in the south of France, I met an elderly couple who had moved over there a number of years ago. My Wife and three children who live there at the moment have known the couple for a few months now and because my Wife had helped them move to a new home they invited us all ...

Litho in Blue Corian

IYWD.

The only way you are going to illuminate your Blue Corian Litho is, after cutting it, you will need to set off a small "H-Bomb" behind it!! hehe.

Hi Tony, I used Rhino version 1.1 I have had it for years but never done any 3d modelling before. I have used it only to convert the many different file formats that customers send me to translate them into something useable. You wouldn't believe what cr*p some people send and expect you to sort out...

Shower Room Floor

A customer asked me if I could produce a sloping sub floor, for him to tile over, for a bathroom shower cubical. I thought this was an opportunity for me to create a 3d model and machine it with cut3d. The size was just over 6' x 3'. I used 19mm ply. The cross section goes from 19mm down to 2mm at t...

Dragon

Here are a few pictures of a Welsh Dragon I have part finished using Cut3D and VCP.
I'ts for a friend of mine who lives in the South of France.
He is going to hang it on an outside wall of his house so the French locals know where he is from.

Size is 400 x 265 x 18mm

Thanks for the nice comments Guys, The best thing about using this material is that it's DEAD FLAT. :D I suppose that covers the old post about finding a flat piece of wood. Now we have something. It's also available in numerous finishes so there must be something there for everyone. Up side,...

Done in less than 10 minutes

I just wondered if anyone has tried this method ? One of the main reasons I have avoided producing decorative signs, made from timber, is all the agro that goes into the job. Not the cutting, as with the Vectric Collection, things could not be any easier. It's all the preperation work. Like giving y...

Hi Peter, I copied this from afacryl, Partgroup EZFM : MKD Diamond Router Bit The MKD Diamond will be used mostly to produce a high gloss finish on acrylic. This diamond cutter is a finishing cutter and will only remove 0.05 to 0.10 mm. This gives the cutter an extremely high life time if used with ...
