Sorry for the long delay in my Reply. I was in Israel for a couple weeks.
Thanks for your Instructions in the PDF. They work perfectly.
I am going to cut these out tomorrow.

Re: Rotary Modeling
I have since overwritten the original many times.
This one is an attempt to copy sawmillers work but unlike his I still get the ridge.
I have tried to make the model height bigger as others have suggested but that does not seem to work unless I am not doing that wrong.
Thanks

Re: Rotary Modeling
I downloaded Sawmillers file and it shows the final toolpath exactly as it should be. I am using ver. 10 of Aspire but I have tried Many times and cannot duplicate the result. I always get a ridge on the final toolpath no matter what I do. I assume it is just me and there is something I am missing b...

Re: Rotary Modeling
In the modeling view that looks good but when I make a finishing toolpath it stops short of cutting the full 360 degrees

Re: Rotary Modeling
Yes the rounding toolpath works except it does not have an option that I see to make the diameter smaller/tapered at both ends of the cylinder.

Re: Rotary Modeling
I sculpted it with the vertical 2rail sweep rails one on each side.
Then used a drawing of an arc across the top with a line coming down from each side that was 1/2 the length of the diameter of the cylinder.

Rotary Modeling
I want to create a barrel shaped cylinder. I used the sculpting tool and created what I wanted. It carved out great except it leaves a high ridge at about zero degrees about 1/4" wide the whole length of the cylinder. I noticed the Gcode goes from -7 degrees to -351 degrees that accounts for that ri...

Re: CUTTING .125 THICK ALUMINUM
I cut 6061 Aluminum fairly often with good results. I use a 3/16" aluminum bit with a single flute from ToolsToday. Pass Depth .010" to .020" Spindle Speed = 18,000 Feedrate = 80 to 90 IPM Plunge rate I keep pretty slow but prefer to use the ramp option where possible. When doing a straight plunge i...

Re: My First and Only Sign so far
Thanks for all your kind comments. It is 2' X 4' I used HDU precisionboard that was donated from our local supplier for this project "Grimco of Kansas City". I engraved the letters, and did a 3D carving of the Vegetables with Aspire. I spray painted then repainted the background several times until ...

Not as good as you Pro's. But not bad for a first attempt.
