Re: Avoid walls or machined areas with v-carve clearing tools

Also, the multiple passes are not a design flaw. Imagine (or preview the cut) where you run the v-bit last... Would you want those delicate clearing bits cutting full-depth? Very good points. After your post about changing the depth per pass, I went in and changed the depth of the 3rd and 4th clear...

If you truly think that the tool used in the Clear 4 toolpath will not need multiple passes to get to the floor of then alter its behaviour...you are in control... Edit the toolpath; highlight the tool that is used in the clear 4 part of the toolpath; click edit; change the pass depth to your proje...

Re: Avoid walls or machined areas with v-carve clearing tools

What bits are you using? I don't see the behaviour you're describing when using multiple clearance tools. You can use the Solid rather than Wireframe preview to see the material each bit removes. If you could attach the actual file that would make it a lot easier to see what's going on. I've attach...

Avoid walls or machined areas with v-carve clearing tools

I've been struggling with excessive toolpath time when using small clearing bits on v-carve toolpaths. If I have 3 or 4 clearing bits, I'd really prefer that they focus their attention on the bottom of the carve rather than trying to remove everything possible from the area the v-bit is going to do ...
