Is there a benefit to staying at the Embassy Suites? Curious as I have points for a competing chain and get in free.

Re: preview waste material will not delete
I know this is an older thread, but I ran into this same issue and the increase in preview simulation quality fixed my issue.
Among the steps I took to troubleshoot was increasing the bit size (which also fixed it). Oddly enough when I shrunk the bit size, it barely even registered in the preview.

Re: 3D terrain model
Looks very cool! Can you post a pic of the finished item? This has been on my 'gotta try' list.

He said he would send me pics when he finished them. I am anxious to see them finished as well.

Re: Modeling Resolution - Job Setup
I built a model on a 27x27 piece of material. Got everything worked out and then before I went to carve, I changed the material to be 49x97 and then positioned the job in the right spot on the sheet. I did not scale the job or change it in anyway. -Eric Something I don't quite understand. You say y...

Re: Japanese doors details
I don't know where the pattern came from. He sent me a picture of the original piece and then I had to re-draw it in Aspire. The original rings were metal and I am willing to be the patterns were stamped in the metal by hand.
Old world craftsmanship.

I got everything carved out as expected this weekend. Thanks for straightening me out!
I posted in the gallery my finished piece if you are curious as to what I was making.

Japanese doors details
I just finished this one up for a customer. He is rebuilding a Japanese style cabinet and these rings will be finished to look like metal and inlayed in the door. http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk106/ebeeks/CNC%20Projects/6D382B76-1B5D-41CA-8E1D-46E3B460E27A_zpsw5ss1nb6.jpg http://i278.photobuck...

Re: Modeling Resolution - Job Setup
Thanks guys! Thanks for simplifying it fir me. I knew about the resolution thing and I always thought it only applied to the screen resolution and did not translate to the actual carving. It explains a lot for some of headaches over the years. Most 3D work I did came in from outside. I rarely had to...

Re: Modeling Resolution - Job Setup
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but this is something I am wrangling with and the last post is what finally made this issue click. At least I think it did. Re: 3d cut is too deep
It's flat. The 2d tool paths are just fine. I fixed the job above by carving another pocket deeper to accommodate the difference.

Re: 3d cut is too deep
It's not a small area that does it. It's the entire job that is off. Could a 3D tool path have a different setting than a 2d tool path that would make the depth be different? If the file is good, then it moves to the machine. Since the entire job is impacted, I am wondering if it could be a Mach3 co...

Re: 3d cut is too deep
I ended up creating a new file and copying the elements and toolpaths over. Still had to zip the file!
The file is a rar file, but that extension is not allowed on the site.

Re: 3d cut is too deep
I have been trying to remove elements from the file to get it under the 2mb limit. Zipping it I am still at 3.19mb.
I'll upload when I get it there. Thanks for offering to take a look.
