Re: Big Changes Coming

Thanks Leo. I have not been doing much routing lately. More focused on the 3D printer and getting proficient using it. Also the laser. These are both very new pieces of equipment for me. There is this idea swimming around in my brain about utilizing all of these technologies in creating highly detai...

Re: Big Changes Coming

Are you still going to mount it on the wall Ted? Looking forward to seeing more of your creations once it's back up & running   Nah Martin, I got an overwhelming attack of laziness and decided to leave it on the table it has always been on. Did a lot of revamping relative to heights. I ha...

Uh huh. :::::::sheesh::::::::

Nothing like using a company forum to bad mouth them only to discover that one is chewing on one's own toenails.

Re: orthographic vs. perspective view?

Those shots are definitely orthogonal and perspective. As someone pointed out, orthogonal does not mean a specific view, rather a view at right angles with no perspective. It is easy to see why someone might think otherwise, a lot of 3D software refers to a top, left, right, etc view as an "orthogon...

Re: Support for graphic drivers!

Gave this a bit more thought. This is a "pixel" based system when it comes to doing the artsy stuff. Actually more like voxels since those pixels can have values ranging up to 255 I believe. Calculations on a system like this are more than likely three dimensional matrix calcs. EXTREMELY CPU intensi...

Hi Vectric. ...... And yes, I run in max resolution because I want that resolution. ...... Kent Please appreciate that when you post here, you are NOT posting to Vectric, this is a user forum. They may or not read your post. If you are really annoyed you should contact them directly. I quoted your ...

Re: Mach3 Any experts out there?

Welp, you do not say where you are located. For all you know a guy down the road may be the expert you are looking for.

Saying things like "solve all my problems" is a huge red flag to most folks. You are not very specific about what is happening.

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)

..... Do grade 9 writing teachers still warn against "everything", "all", "everyone knows"? Mine did. Of course, "most things", "it seems that" to me always (oops!) seem to be affected. Both programs on a Windows box set to 100% scale (i.e. no scaling). ... Did we go to the same school? People who ...

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)

What Be-fuddles me in the New Version 12.0 some name changes have been made!!! Such a "Object Properties" is Now "Appearance" ..... Sharkcutup The only place I have seen that is when a bitmap is selected. For me, a bitmap has appearance, not properties. This is pretty standard for CAD programs that...

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)

Some of these "changes" were sorely needed. The rotation method in 3D drove me bonkers for years. Using the right mouse button down method is more in keeping with a lot of other 3D applications. Though some of them use the left button if you are not over the object and other weird ideas. Many moons ...

Re: Easy Modeling Video?

I am going to toss something in here, rarely mentioned when it comes to learning 3d modeling. Sometimes we just do not "click" with a certain piece of software. I have no idea why this happens. I speak from experience, I have Aspire, I have tons of design experience (started out life as a tool engin...

Re: 3D view center point

Dropped a model in, then created some vectors way off to the side. Went to 3D view and nope, it rotated around the center of the model, not the model and the vectors. Maybe I am missing something here, you should probably post a screen shot of what you are doing so the rest of us do not have to gues...

Thanks for posting all that Dave. I don't do much inlay work using that technique, but occasionally it will come in handy.

About V12

I have been using 4.5 pretty much forever. Never upgraded. A recent machine rebuild resulted in my supposedly having to upgrade to solve an issue. Well, that did not turn out to be the case. But, here I am, on V12. I like the fresh look. I like the way the clipart selection looks and operates. The o...

Re: GCode Mystery

I highly doubt it is the machine or the controller. This sounds like something is interfering with the computer during sending of the program. I am not sure if your control is being spoon fed the program from the computer. On both of my grbl machines that is the case, so if ANYTHING interferes with ...
