Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)

What Be-fuddles me in the New Version 12.0 some name changes have been made!!! Such a "Object Properties" is Now "Appearance" ..... Sharkcutup The only place I have seen that is when a bitmap is selected. For me, a bitmap has appearance, not properties. This is pretty standard for CAD programs that...

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)

Some of these "changes" were sorely needed. The rotation method in 3D drove me bonkers for years. Using the right mouse button down method is more in keeping with a lot of other 3D applications. Though some of them use the left button if you are not over the object and other weird ideas. Many moons ...

Re: Easy Modeling Video?

I am going to toss something in here, rarely mentioned when it comes to learning 3d modeling. Sometimes we just do not "click" with a certain piece of software. I have no idea why this happens. I speak from experience, I have Aspire, I have tons of design experience (started out life as a tool engin...

Re: 3D view center point

Dropped a model in, then created some vectors way off to the side. Went to 3D view and nope, it rotated around the center of the model, not the model and the vectors. Maybe I am missing something here, you should probably post a screen shot of what you are doing so the rest of us do not have to gues...

Thanks for posting all that Dave. I don't do much inlay work using that technique, but occasionally it will come in handy.

About V12

I have been using 4.5 pretty much forever. Never upgraded. A recent machine rebuild resulted in my supposedly having to upgrade to solve an issue. Well, that did not turn out to be the case. But, here I am, on V12. I like the fresh look. I like the way the clipart selection looks and operates. The o...

Re: GCode Mystery

I highly doubt it is the machine or the controller. This sounds like something is interfering with the computer during sending of the program. I am not sure if your control is being spoon fed the program from the computer. On both of my grbl machines that is the case, so if ANYTHING interferes with ...

I decided not to make a candle holder after all...I figured a walking cane would be more useful in the near future...it's by no means perfect, but I'm pleased.
Perfect is overrated.

Nice work.

These are from my SW Pro Series, pretty darn sure it is Officer size (but I think it is actually called Commander, could be wrong about that)

Just tried it on my laptop, CND (could not duplicate).

Just thinking it may have to do with how you have your display settings in windows configured.

Re: V12: Dialog Bug/Crash?

Back in the day when I was writing software I did not have any bugs, just anomalies. I used that term for a reason. Even though I was the person who wrote the software it was possible that the software was doing exactly what I told it to do, but not what I had intended. The term BUG has an interesti...

Re: V12: Dialog Bug/Crash?

I wish people would stop creating posts with BUG in the title. After being here for about 17 years now, the percentage of posts claiming BUG that actually were a bug is really low. Also, most of the folks gleefully typing BUG in a post title are far from qualified to determine if an issue they are h...
