Re: How to do version "C"?

Chris,
Thank you so much. I figured, after so much time, it must have been covered.

Thanks, again,

Joe

How to do version "C"?

Hi, Gang! Yes, the hairy, old, fat man is still around and upright. But it has been a long time since I spent much time on the forum, so please forgive me if I am asking an old question. When you purchase a 3D model from Vector Art 3D, you have three versions to consider/choose...A, B and C. The "C"...

Re: Aspire Post

Just a very small tip on clamping. You mentioned having to have clearance for the knob. Using the clamps I got with my CAMaster Stinger I, I had to make sure I cleared the knobs. I replaced the knobs with hex nuts and cut the bolts to "just long enough." I now keep a ratchet with a 1/2" deep socket ...

Mesquite grip, Katalox arrowhead inlay, Silver inlaid ".T"
It has been a while since I have been active on here and have missed it. I have kept my hand in it and, after seeing Hardhide's excellent handiwork, thought I would post a few of my latest.

Back at it...

Apparently, reports of my retirement have been greatly exaggerated. (My apologies to Mark Twain) Just to let ya'll know that I have not fallen off the face of the earth, here is a set of mesquite grips with a katalox inlay (arrowhead) which was inlaid with a sterling silver "T". Nothing spectacular,...

Re: Last Supper Box

It has been a couple of years since I was on the forum and I must say I am seeing some beautiful work displayed here. I think your box is absolutely beautiful and quite innovative.

Re: Two sided tape.

I make pistol grips and start with blanks that are 2"X5"x3/8". I have a "mini-spoilboard" made of Corian clamped to my regular one and I hot glue the blanks to the Corian. I have been doing this for over 9 years and it works just fine. If you wait too long (several hours) after setting it up in the ...

Re: The apple doesn't fall far...

Thanks for the comments, guys. Mike-S: Actually, all of the grips we make are mesquite. The lighting was bad on that picture making it look like walnut. I reckon we have made more mesquite grips than anyone else in the world...that is our niche. MarkJohnston: While we cut sterling silver all the tim...

The apple doesn't fall far...

My son, Steven, has been helping me a little with grips for eight years (since he was 14). Last year, as I headed further into retirement, he began coming over and learning to use the Stinger and how to produce the inlaid grips. Here are just a couple he did with stainless steel inlays. He did a ver...

I have never cut a lithopane but if I ever did I would hope it came out as nice as this! A very well executed project...all the way around.

It's the little things...

I ordered me in some 1/64" bits just before we closed the shop last year and never got to use them. I figured today was as good as any to try them so here is my first effort. The 3D model (from VectorArt3D) is 1.03" X .98".

Re: Why the difference???

Thank you, Brian, that was exactly my problem! I always save my work to different folders with each major revision so I just went back and deleted the holes as components. That did the trick! Taking nothing away from the Vectric software itself but it is worth twice the money by the added value of t...
