Re: pvc importing to aspre

Thanks for the prompt replies Adrian. A more specific of what I am attempting may help. I want to insert a photo V carve type image onto the Book project. I have no trouble projecting V carved line vectors and text onto the models done in Aspire. I thought it may be possible to generate a pvc type t...

Re: Aspire STL files

Thanks Guys,
I was not centering the Model.
At my age I guess I can expect to overlook things.
Once again Aspire proves to be Magnificent software.

Re: Aspire STL files

Thanks Adrian & Steve for replies. No I don't get an error and yes I do manage to import the Stl back into Aspire but it is only the 2.5D model that I created in modelling, not the 3D with a back that was saved as STL with a back. To generate a toolpath for a rotary machine I start a new file in gad...

Aspire STL files

I have been able to create models in aspire and export as STL files with a back creating the mesh. I am able to load the file on a 3DPtinter and it works fine. I would like to import the Stl back into Aspire in the rotary job setup to machine on a rotary axis in full 3D. Is there a way to do this or...

Rotary jobs longer than machine limits

 Something different I found. that may be useful. If your router is too small to make table legs etc it is possible to machine rotary parts longer than the table if the rotary setup is on a separate sub table set on the Y axis with guides to enable it slide thru in increments using The Tiling ...

Re: Stopping a long job to rest

I use Mach3 and and ALWAYS HOME the router on startup. Then I zero the job on the table and save the machine co ordinates as G55 and or G56. Now I have reference coordinates needed to restart or recover. Mach3 will show line numbers as it is running. If the job stops or is stopped ,note the line num...

My 2 cents worth.
Look for Tapered Ball Nose Cutters they are good were no rough cut is used.

Wolffie.
I work with acryllic and found that minor scuffs and scratches can be removed
with repco Paint Doctor and a soft cloth.

Re: VCarve Inlay - ALMOST there!

Sorry I only looked at the images. However I have had this problem and crooked lines was the problem once. Another time it was caused by the motion settings in MacH ie IJ, mode and constant velocity settings.
hpe this helps.

Re: Very large Z values in toolpath

Are you using Mach and what screen set are you using.
I had this problem with 2010 screen set macros when I reverted to my original screen set.

Re: VCarve Inlay - ALMOST there!

I would suggest that you look at a zoomed view of your vectors.
Where those wobbles are will show the line is not straight but stepped.
Edit the lines to a single point to point and the problem will go away.

Dave, You may have to grind some relief for small holes.
I also was able to regrind some of the tools to a different form.

Re: New Threads gadget available for Aspire 4 and VCP7

Re cutters, I use a single point internal HS lathe threading tool with the Wizards in Mach.
A mall 1/4 in tool does not appear to have too much of a balance problem.
Quick ,cheap and maybe a little nasty but effective.
