Re: Astrolabe

Very nice Gary. Can you tell us the company in China that cast the metal part? [/b] Sorry, it's been over three-years since I've did these and I don't remember the name of the company. After google search, I remember getting a couple of quotes from companies in the U.S. and for a minimum of 100 it ...

Re: Changing BOB and Mach3

I know mach3 is an older technology. I know Mach3 is parallel port driven - BUT - I am driving my BOB with a USB cable. There is some sort of parallel-USB software emulator to allow Mach3 to drive the BOB with USB. [/b] My very first CNC machine had mach3 with a parallel port and that's why I sold ...

Re: Astrolabe

The wood is engraved and then painted over with black paint and excess sanded off. I know what material you were u...

Re: Rotary Axis Work

Excellent job. I used to have a 3D Scanner, getting a few of my grandchildren and myself, then cleaned them up in ZBrush. Mostly I 3D printed them, but a few I did in wood using Alder. I think your outcome using Cherry turned out a lot better.
