Re: Plane cut 3d model above a specific Z value

When you import a model as a double sided project, it will ask for an Overcut Distance. The figure will be a negative distance past the zero plane. If you later want to change the distance, click the zero (limit) plane and going into its component properties (crescent wrench icon) and you can adjust...

Re: 3D Segmenting

Did you see Mohameds reply ealier? Orientation is still there it just happens in the 3D window rather than having to toggle buttons.
Yes I did see it. Maybe you should try to orient a 3D object in the 3D window and see if that solves the problem that is first addressed in this post.

Re: 3D Segmenting

The orientation options for each segment in the Layout mode are determined by the initial orientation of the model as well as the slice planes used to produce the segment in question. Changing how the model was initially oriented in the Import 3D Model > Transform step so that the principal directi...

Re: 3D Segmenting

Looks like the new version eliminated the Interactive Rotation that was a feature in Version 10 and earlier. I'll have to play with the new version to see if I like it better, but from what I see so far, I don't think I will. Don't uninstall the older version just yet.

Re: Rotary - The Puppy

I guess it doesn't matter how long you've been doing things, there's always something new to try. I just did this Labrador as a rotary job an it seems to look pretty good.

Go Anywhere Truck

I guess I was watching too many Alaska TV shows. I saw a picture similar to this so I thought that might be a cool project. I got the truck from Stetchup and saw a picture of the tracks somewhere. I used Aspire and Rhino for the modeling. The tracks are made from Alder then I used a weather-oak stai...

Here are a few closeups. The wheel would of turned out better if I used a smaller bit but the smallest I had was a 1mm.

1930 Packard

My granddaughter saw a few of my last antique cars I built, so she asked if I'd make her one. So searching some pictures, I came up with this 1930 Packard. I use mainly used Aspire to model it with a little help using Rhino. Wood is poplar, walnut and padauk.

A few ideas to speed things up is change you rounding toolpath. From 1/8 to ¼-inch which speeds things up by 15-minutes Change your roughing toolpath to 50% stepover and feed rate to at least 100 inches/min. , which speed things up another 15-minutes. And I didn’t see a lot a difference using the la...
