Re: Does it matter what side of the 4th axis that you cut on?

So I was wondering if it matters on what side of the headstock you place the router on because of how the router is spinning? Shouldn't matter what side the headstock is placed unless you're engraving letters or number, which could be reversed. I guess any engraving of an object to also be reversed...

Re: Odd issue With Makita Router Collet

That's an issue with any collet and/or nut that has been overheated. I keep extra collets on hand for replacements, just for that reason.

Re: Jaguar on Branch Intarsia

What did you use for the backing? (What thickness?) Michael, I use 1/8-in tempered hardboard for the backing. The different wood I used was all 4/4 except for the frame where I used 5/4 oak. To set the different thickness of each piece, I used both the round and flat shape, while adjusting the Angl...

Jaguar on Branch Intarsia

I got the design from Kathy Wise Designs, but she teases you. She shows a picture of the Jaguar complete with a bunch of plants and other animals, but she only would sell me the line art of the Jaguar lying on a branch. I decided to add my own clipart, some from other intarsias and some I drew. Ever...

Re: Aspire import of SVG resizes the objects

Earlier this year I had a project that had 24 different slices that was converted to STL. Because each piece was hollow, I had to take it into ZBrush to fill each piece. The problem I had was ZBrush's size update had a bug so after making several parts twice, I started resizing in Aspire to the part...

Re: Dust cnc makes a lot of it

I save it in different containers and use it on all kinds of projects. On some Intarsias I've used it for the background and mix it with glue for filler. More recent I mixed some Sapele Wood Chips with some resin and used it to coat and color the project. https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=29...

Re: 2 sided job

I have done many dozens of double side projects, where each project has a dozen or more double sides components, making it hundreds of double sided jobs. Now I know MOST people recommend doing it the way the tutorial describes, however I think my way is so much easier and faster, and you don't have ...

I'm not sure what machine you're using, but tap files probably won't work. I use the Mach 2/3-WrapX2A ATC (mm)(*txt) Post Processor. My rotary sits in the Y position and I use mm. Use the one that corresponds to your machine.

How to Freak Out Your Dogs

I took all the old scraps I had laying around the shop, glued them up and came up with enough wood for this mountain lion. Because of all the patch work when I spliced each section, I took some Sapele Wood Chips, mixed it with some fiberglass resin and brushed it on. It not only covered all the seam...
