Re: Rounded Toolpath issue

Have you compared the output files between the versions? Here is what I get after the spindle On command. Mine uses a G53 to send my Z to the top before it starts cutting. [TOOLPATH NAME: Rounding Toolpath] F120 XY [SET FEEDRATE FOR X AND Y] F120 Z [SET FEEDRATE FOR Z] F{(114.5916)*(120)/(3.000)} A ...

Is there any way I can change the default directory for Clipart installation from the C:\ drive?

Re: Making Dish

What depth increments do you use on a bit like that?
Start with the pass depth at 50% of the cutting edge length.

Feeds and speeds would be similar to an end mill -- which is heavily dependent on you spindle and machine's capability.

Make sure the bit does NOT have a bearing on it.

Re: 4th Axis question

The problem is when I select x it moves off into empty space. I don't understand this. Are you talking about within VCarve, or when you actually cut the design? Can you post a photo of your rotary setup with an indication of X and Y? Have you done some basic test setups to help verify the CAM, post...

Re: Making Dish

I want to try and make a simple dish with a rounded transition from the side wall to bottom.
Use a bowl bit or a bowl bit designed to be used in a CNC machine.

Re: 4th Axis question

So when choosing the orientation in the job setup it should be the X axis (my 4th axis is inline with X) and the Y wrap post processor. However, the file is currently setup Along Y, wrapping X values. WrapAlongY.JPG I believe this is what you want. I've included the modified CRV file. AlongX.JPG

Re: 4th Axis question

Can you post the actual CRV file? That will save a lot of guesswork. Which version of Vcarve are you running? Rotary has changed behavior between V9.0 and V11.0 What post processor are you selecting? Recommendation: Z-zero on the center of the cylinder. It will save you a lot of problems when your b...

Re: Rest machine 3d finish path in v11

It does take longer, and if you add more tools it takes a very long time. (I tried it with 6 tools and it tool 30 minutes).

I found an optimum set of tools is something like a 1/4" and a 1/16", or a 2mm and a 0.25mm, i.e. the smaller tool should be 1/4 to 1/8th the diameter of the larger tool.

Re: Rotary job- cutting below axis

Vectric does not support cutting below the centerline on rotary jobs.

You could try doing it as a 2-sided job, or use Cut3D and try it as a 4-sided job.
