Re: Identify Font

Looking at the sign the top is a different font than the bottom. Look for western, cowboy, rio grande, fonts and you will find some similar to both the top and bottom.

Re: Vinyl decals?

I looked into this a year ago and I chose to purchase a plotter type vinyl cutter that would cut vinyl and could also make large shop drawings. By time I purchased a drag knife and figured a way to hold the vinyl for cutting it only cost about $50 more to buy the plotter and it can handle larger ite...

Re: How to photo Brass

In the past I have had to photograph coins and badges. To get rid of reflection I would get a piece of tracing paper or the light drafting paper 18 to 36 inches long and roll it into a cone shape. I would cover the coin at the large end and then put the camera lens pointing through the small end of ...

Need a machining margin around a sliced 3d object

I am trying to make a box lid that had a 3d model of a Harley Fatboy. I downloaded a model from the Sketchup Warehouse and converted it to a dxf file. I then went into Cut3d and resized it to approximately 7 inches by 4 inches and 3 inches in z. I specified a top and bottom. (I am only going to use ...

Re: Engrave signature in one pass

Thanks for the help. I was using v-carve-engrave tool path, but thought I had to put a value in the cutting depth field, Turned off flat depth and recalculated. Then I got an error message that the cutter was going to cut .030 inch deep and the material was only .020 inch. I said ok continue and the...

Engrave signature in one pass

I am new to this forum. I am trying to engrave a signature on a brass tag. I set the depth to .005 inches and the heighth is about .250 inch. The signature was scanned and the vectorized (giving a inside and outside vector). The problem is that the v tool recuts wide areas leaving tracks for the ste...
