Re: Nesting Version 11

Nope, that's how it works. I also change sheet 1 to sheet 0 before nesting.

Re: Making Dish

I really like the shape of that tray. Here are 2 alternatives that I think come a little closer to the original shape. The first uses a 2-inch core box bit to cut the curve, which may be too big for your Shapeko to run. The second makes the exact same curve using a moulding toolpath with a 1/4" ball...

Re: Edit post processor to increase dwell time

If you look in the post-processor, you will find a Toolchange section about halfway down. Look for the following command: G4 P2 G4 is a dwell command - it tells the controller to wait some number of seconds before moving. P2 means it will wait for 2 seconds Change the number 2 to whatever higher num...

Re: What on earth is going on? really stuck, need help!

One thing I see a lot of people struggle with at first is the idea of when/how to use a v-bit, especially given the name of the program is V-Carve. There's a difference between a V-carve toolpath and a v-bit. A v-bit is just a v-shaped bit and can be used in any of the main toolpath types, including...

Re: V11 - Create Component from Toolpath preview - Glitch?

I just tried to replicate what you're seeing with a moulding profile. I usually run my preview simulation quality at max. At that level, I could run the toolpath, delete the waste and create the component from the preview with no problem. The deleted waste stayed deleted If I set the preview simulat...

Re: V11 - Create Component from Toolpath preview - Glitch?

Check to see if the Preview Simulation Quality (under the Toolpaths dropdown) has now been reset to Standard. When it is low, then pixels can bridge the gap left by the cutout bit. Setting it higher can resolve this issue. This was true in prior versions, also. I noticed that this setting was reset ...

Re: VCarve Pro 10- Tabs Cutout

A different approach that accomplishes something similar is to use a technique called onion skin. Cut everything out leaving a thin skin of material. For example, if the material is 3/4" thick, leave .03" or so of material uncut, or whatever works for you. Then do a second cutout toolpath with 1 pas...

Re: 2d Profile Bit Change not allowed

You may not have to do this. It threw me the first time, too...was about to panic that I'd lost all of them. Check all the materials for all the machines. It's possible the tool definitions are hiding in one of them. Then you would just rename the machine/material to what you really want it to be.

Re: Create Form Tool in Tool Database

Vectric would have to completely change their internal data model to allow undercuts to be previewed. Since Vectric graphics are surface modeling (not full 3d solid modeling) -- essentially a height map of each point on a plane at a specific resolution -- the model keeps track of changes to the surf...

Re: maintain older version of Vcarve Desktop?

Yes. There is no issue with having both versions (except disk space, if that's a concern). You'll just have to remember to use 10.5 for anything you want to share with him.

Re: Love it - V11

I also am a huge fan of the new sheets functionality, from a production point of view. It's now easier to add sheets, re-nest a few parts, work with sheets of different sizes and shapes. One caution. Do make sure that you pay attention to the fact that sheets can be different in all ways - z set to ...

Re: Multi-Sheet Questions

I'd prefer different naming options, but this is what we have for now. It's an improvement over the last version since it includes the sheet name in the file name. The toolpath numbers are pretty useless for my purposes, but perhaps they have value to some users.

I'm with Scott - don't see any real issues with this. The bit isn't jumping up and down in my simulation.

Looks great. Unless you make a point of telling someone about it, everyone will assume that's the way it's supposed to look.

Try making Aspire full screen, or increasing the window height.
