Re: Longing for the multi-drill head
For those of us with commercial machines, it would be an extremely useful addition. However, I've discussed this with Vectric in the past and they had 2 concerns. One was that multidrills are implemented differently on different machines, requiring different setups within the software. I've seen how...

Grant - click the button for "Single Page" at the top of the help page. Then use your browser's "find" command to search the document.

Re: Moulding toolpath for sloped edges of box top?
Not really sure what kind of shape you're trying to make. Are you making like a triangular shape on the top of the box? Are you just making a chamfer with a wide angle? It's pretty straightforward, regardless. Once you understand how the toolpath works, it isn't that hard to adapt to different situa...

Re: Struggling newbie needs help please
A couple of things to check: 1. In job setup, is your z-zero position set to the machine bed or to the top of the material? Did you zero the machine to the same place? Both of them need to be the same. 2. In Material Setup (under the Toolpath tab on the right side of the screen), what is your Home/S...

Re: Moving vectors AND toolspaths between sheets?
That's why I prefer toolpath templates. Make a template from the first sheet, then import it and answer yes when it asks if you want to apply to all sheets. You'll end up with 2 sets of toolpaths for the first sheet - easy enough to delete the extra set.

Re: How to get More Cleaner finish
Most of the time when we answer something like this we have to be careful to take the machine's capabilities into account. This is not one of those times. Your Omnitech machine can run faster than that, especially if you start with a 1/8" tapered ballnose for the first finish path. When I do carving...

Re: How to get More Cleaner finish
I would start by trying higher modeling resolution. Create a new file, holding the "Shift" key while you create it. That should give you two additional options for modeling resolution. Choose "Maximum". Now re-import the model into your new file. Don't copy the component you already created - its re...

Re: Any AI masterpieces ?
Funny you should post a dragon. Here is an AI one that I'm still working on. I intend to put it on a box as a gift for a young musician I know. I'm finding that there's still a lot of work to make it look the way I want after generating the initial image.

Re: My Laser Adventure
Thanks for posting your adventure. I just picked up a WinCNC based machine that includes a 20w diode laser, and have been wondering where to start. I knew smoke control would be an issue - need to figure that part out.

Re: Is there a way to do this
Yes, you are. Multiple tools in the same toolpath menu results in rest machining, which shouldn't be causing your issue.

Re: Wish
Given the way the Vectric surface modeling works, I think we're unlikely to see simulation of undercuts. The Vectric products model surfaces, not full 3d objects. They would need to completely reprogram not only the entire data model that underlies 3d modeling in these tools, but all the functions t...

Re: Is there a way to do this
You don't need to bake to create a vector around the components. Just select all the components you want to carve, then hit the "Create vector boundary around selected components" button (note the "s" in "components"). I generally put off baking as long as possible - generally until I need to sculpt...

Re: inlay tool path
Yeah, I wondered if that would be a problem. I did a really quick test earlier and it seemed to work but a more rigorous test shows that it doesn't .
