Re: Detail lines in Vcarve inlay

I honestly didn't know how to reply to this post. I see so many things wrong with the graphics of the flowers (too many open vectors, lines inside the vectors, etc). To the OP, are you sure you are asking about "inlay" with this? To me, this graphic file would need lots of work for an inlay toolpath...

Re: Open two projects at the same time

I am needing to recreate a project at a smaller size. The original project has multiple vectors. Is there anyway to open two projects at the same time so I can put them on different monitors? Opening two instants of vcarve pro v12 would be the best option. As Adrian states... of course you can open...

Re: GCode Mystery

I won't be much help... for what it is worth, I assume the machine (FoxAlien) instructed you to use GRBL for the gcode? I haven't read or heard of any issues with it, so I can only believe that the problem is with the machine or the controller. I know nothing about your machine, nor the 3 controller...

You can change both of those if you want but in the case of the 3D you will lose some of the new functionality.
Thanks... but I am not sure I like losing functionality for my convenience. I know Vectric can't please everyone... but someone had to sign off on this as a "new and improved" feature.

Re: Vcarve pro V11.5 and 12 not finishing

Hello, Using both Vcarve Pro V11.5 and V12, several times, including todays project, the program stops about 60/70% thru and will not finish. Have used the same settings on other projects with no issue. Very frustrating! Any help would be appreciated! image0.jpeg To clarify understanding... you are...

Re: Version 12 Tool/Feature Name Changes (Be-Fuddling)

Yeah, there are quite a few changes in the program that had my process boinkers. First up was the viewing in the 3D. I thought my mouse went bad. I needed desperately to turn and swivel my project to see a different angle, but I didn't know I now have to right click to turn it... lol. Not sure why t...

Ouch! My leg is hurting!
lol. yeah, that is me too. I'd be banging into that left and right. In fact, my machine came with a laptop extension stand that I never installed or use because I could see myself constantly banging into it. But whatever works...

Re: Moulding toolpath for sloped edges of box top?

Yes, I've played with modifying all of the free project boxes... lol. And I too love the paradise box design, it just isn't practical as an adoration box to me. Your design is very nice. Well done.

Re: Can I do this?.

To add on what Adrian suggests... the tutorials can be overwhelming at first since there are so many subjects. They are very worth the time to learn the software. But since you have a new machine, you also need to learn your machine first. I know you want to jump right in and create awesome projects...

Re: Moulding toolpath for sloped edges of box top?

I think my programing may be unorthodox, but it works! My husband & I make cremains boxes...I do the programing & he does the CNC machine. It certainly isn't unorthodox. It looks good! Ironically we are in the beginning stages of making Pet Cremation boxes ourselves. A few years ago we lost our bel...

Re: 1/16 Tapered Ball Nose Settings

Thanks for info Leo. I think I am following most of what your are saying. Not sure I follow the part about .25" (shank size?) part of the chipload. However, I used adze's link of the Amana tool to update the settings for this tool (see pic). Hopefully I am getting close to setting this properly. The...

1/16 Tapered Ball Nose Settings

Hi guys and gals... I need some guidance here please. I just purchased my first tapered ball nose and I am unsure of the settings in the tool database since I don't see any examples. I never had a tapered in my inventory before and all my previous 3D carvings were normal ball nose bits. I purchased ...

Re: Moulding toolpath for sloped edges of box top?

Ok, this is what I wanted. Would still like to find a video about this use of the moulding tool/moulding profile as used specifically as edge of board/top. I find many on creating a flat mould, but that's not what I needed. Gotcha! Steve provided a great example of what you are trying to achieve. B...

Re: Moulding toolpath for sloped edges of box top?

I still don't follow what you are asking or trying to achieve. What do you consider "a specialized use in the moulding toolpath"?
